Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 10, 2017 1:42 am Hi all, I've been following a few threads on this great site for a while now, so I thought it's time I started my own. We brought our block in May last year. Signed with summit in July. Slab went down in May, Brickwork completed end of June and the roof should be done early this week. So things are moving quiet quick now. We have found Summit quiet good so far. The 10+ months It took to get the design and BAL issues sorted was quiet frustrating, and a few little things here and there got on our nerves. I think they may be understaffed in the office, but the girls have been helpful and courteous at all times. So far we have had 3 contract administrators and 2 different site supers now, due to reshuffling of personnel internally. Very happy with our new SS Victor he has been top notch so far Hopefully we can get the roof finished and colourbond on soon, weather permitting Cheers Re: Summit homes Perth 2Jul 10, 2017 1:50 am ![]() Hi all, I've been following a few threads on this great site for a while now, so I thought it's time I started my own. Our private building inspector went out to our block early this week, he was most impressed with the quality of workmanship. Said everything was of a high standard no major issues at all, a few minor things that we have let the supervisor know about. Which they will fix in due course. Plumbers and electricians are doing there thing at the moment, hopefully the colourbond goes on early next week. Weather pending!! We're building with Summit too. We had a changeover of supervisors a little while ago, and we lost Victor. Your journey sounds similar to ours, very slow to start (also due to really slow contracts and drafting, and then some BAL and geotech issues) but since slab was poured (April) things seems to have been moving well, and we're really happy with how its all turning out. Roof just went on last week. What design are you building? Are u guys north or south of the river? ![]() Re: Summit homes Perth 7Jul 27, 2017 3:29 pm Hi Spiffmiff, We are building a custom built house in the Hills, its loosely based on the Lancelin design. Victor has been really good so far, few minor things that we noticed. He seems to be on the ball anyway and has been very prompt (compared to others) with his responses to our queries. It seems like your build is a week or 2 in front of ours. Have you had any further progress since they did the superwall? They given you a PCI or rough move in date yet? Hi there!
