Called from site and said nothing will happen till they reopened So we now lost 2 months! And will be homeless according to new schedule:( Not happy with them all because they did not keep to their schedule wires got stolen and now nothing will happen till they reopen! Dont think its right! They just dont give a rat about our house or us! Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 544Dec 06, 2017 11:30 am Entilzha that absolutely sucks to go from should be ready by your deadline to this must be real disappointing. not the kind of news you want at this time of year yes exactly, since we got the new ss things just went from bad to worse but lets give them the benefit of doubt that it will be completed soon... not hopeful... but lets see... cant see what they have been doing since 17 November , and now nothing till 15 January so yes 2 months of nothing?? and in the mean time our friends had joinery, wires and coper pipe stolen but they got it all fixed within a day and is now buzzy with tiling? yet again they got released after us around 3 weeks after us, and they are so far ahead of us, even their bricks was up in a week. but they have a different consultant and ss, so still think its poor planning and execution of tradies... they are clearly available to be used, but our consultant had no idea of what goes on at the site and had to call the ss to ask whats going on cant say anything except that this is really absurd and unacceptable, and we are so disappointed and unhappy with them! we where thinking of building again end next year for investment and was actually thinking of using hickies, but have to say after this experience so far I highly doubt that they will get our $$ again. unless they redeem themselves and catch up that we get our house before end of January.... Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 545Dec 06, 2017 11:43 am yep like that house across road from me. was released to construction 2 weeks after mine (going by council site) and has been at lockup for last 2 weeks or so) and i'm still waiting for linings and bricking should be finished this week all builders get houses that stall at some point - house near my partners by another well known reputable SA builder looked like it stalled half way through bricking for about a month and then restarted last week and is now flying along Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 546Dec 06, 2017 12:56 pm Entilzha yep like that house across road from me. was released to construction 2 weeks after mine (going by council site) and has been at lockup for last 2 weeks or so) and i'm still waiting for linings and bricking should be finished this week all builders get houses that stall at some point - house near my partners by another well known reputable SA builder looked like it stalled half way through bricking for about a month and then restarted last week and is now flying along Clearly trades is available just not booked for us or planned properly and again due to ss change might have influenced this so unprofessional Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 547Dec 06, 2017 2:50 pm oh no - what will you do? I can lend you a tent! so so so disappointed for you. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 548Dec 06, 2017 3:18 pm thank you! have no idea what we will be doing! hoping they catch up and tradies work overtime to have house finished in time. will probably have to get a storage pod and store all our stuff which would cost more than what we thought (would have just used a ute and trailer to move ) but if the timing will be an issue then we will need to store our stuff. hubby is actually thinking of sleeping in the house at night during the holidays to prevent thefts and vandalism as hickies is not open nor has any contact way until they reopen, all we got told was email us and we will fix issues once we reopen? which is crazy. maybe we should actually go into the office everyday that we are without a house and use their facilities to prepare meals/ drinks for the day and get cleaned up and when its hot just sit there and make use of their cooling.. .... then they might actually get a move on things.... but we are building through them with a contract they have with homestart if all else fails we will let homestart apply pressure cause they have a schedule they need to keep to with them, but I think they are totally of track with that now. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 550Dec 07, 2017 11:21 am Timeframe moved again we need to add bank payment times to their completion times so not cool! How in earth did they get it right to go from mid January to end February due to their incompetence to keep to their schedule and now causing us all this issues! Im so over hickies not caring! Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 551Dec 07, 2017 4:42 pm when do you have to be out of your rental by? Do they have any policy (compensation) about finishing after when they predicted? Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 553Dec 07, 2017 5:52 pm Nawsome :( when do you have to be out of your rental by? Do they have any policy (compensation) about finishing after when they predicted? Compensation only if they go over 6 weeks from original 14 weeks so still give them till end feb to have completion... the time does not include pci and time gor bank to process payment . We need to be out before 25/2 and have carpets washed and place cleaned Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 554Dec 07, 2017 5:53 pm Entilzha Do you have any idea how long homestart will probably take with processing that final payment They usually do it in couple of days but final one they need some one to go out and inspect before they pay and by the time of valuation it can be 1-3weeks depending how buzzy they are Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 555Dec 08, 2017 2:24 pm so our friends house got broken into again last night! they broke a window this time.... this is crazy! I'm now getting really concerned for the upcoming holidays! definitely going to be sleeping on site then and at least have a shot to catch the thiefs. when she got to her house she saw a guy next to it with his dog, and asked him what he was doing and he said he was walking his dog! she was like not around my house mate, why do you think you can come on my property and walk your dog around my house, and then she saw the broken window, took photos of the guy as he walked away and called the cops. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 556Dec 08, 2017 2:51 pm that is terrible. We are leaving a shed up in our backyard which initially we were going to leave some stuff in, but not anymore. Was only going to be some kid's toy's, books etc - but we don't feel that they will be safe. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 557Dec 08, 2017 3:31 pm perhaps he saw the broken window and was checking it out as well. not likely to try and break into a place with a dog in tow i think. But it does create a sense of paranoia knowing sites will be unattended for so long. I used to go and walk through lots of houses that where pre-lockup but don't even think about it now. would rather walk through my place - just wish it was less than a 25 minute drive to get there. will be going up to my place as much as i can i think just to check on it plus asking people i know to go past when its convenient for them Hope not too much damage was done to them this time Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 558Dec 08, 2017 3:40 pm They are waiting for assessment Not likely yo have seen the small hole in thd window when walking your dog... was in the 1m space between neighbours fence and her spot. But if it was him a good excuse āwalking my dogā ... Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 559Dec 08, 2017 3:42 pm Nawsome  that is terrible. We are leaving a shed up in our backyard which initially we were going to leave some stuff in, but not anymore. Was only going to be some kid's toy's, books etc - but we don't feel that they will be safe. Not unless you stay in the shed! Its crazy 2nd time this week for her! Thanks NativeZen!
