Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 21Jul 21, 2017 1:07 pm yay for getting the report, and hopefully your final numbers soon. our fill and spoil removal all came as one cost, so no idea how much it costs. hopefully yours is reasonably cheap Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 22Jul 21, 2017 9:41 pm Yes dint think there will be issues since the footings is down and we have a relatively flat block(was the sports field part of an old school) so think it wont change much if any at all maybe just reflect updating as i think it was adjusted to support deeper footings. So thankfull for lower footing costs meaning i can keep my floors snd we have relatively good soil Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 23Jul 21, 2017 9:47 pm Entilzha good news lovisa, waiting for that report i think was one of the most frustrating parts of my experience. hopefully not to much soil removal for you I had excess soil and ended up being and extra $1200 for removal - luckily my footings also came back 1k under estimate so wasnt to bad at the time i thought developer puts soil there then builder charges me to move excess - probably to a spot chosen by developer for next stage Our soil removal was quoted at $2800 so i am hopefull it will go down as the footings went down and we have a fkat block (sports field area of an old school) not sure how accurate the cost was as its pc for survey of boundaries (our block between 2 thats sllready fenced and build) wind speed requirement, and extra underground services for electrical, gas, sewer) our footings was initially quoted at 22718k and was told today between 20-21k so atleSt 1718k cheaper! Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 24Jul 27, 2017 11:41 am oh so frustrating! our soil reports came in $1800 under quote the soil ended up being H2-D. but now we got stabbed with extra fees for soil removal up from $2800 to $ 3900 expensive ,(for a flat block) and then ontop of that we have to arrange with the neighbours to remove their fence and install and pay for a temporary fence to go up and then after build reconstruct their fence , apparently if the builder does it there will be even more fees added on and then to just top it off..... wait for it, all these costs does not include the cost of the removal of the soil from the perimeter for paving nor the driveway and cross over.and apparently the top scrap does not include the removal of the soil scraped, we have to ensure there is no vegetation in the soil or it will up the costs even more if it is included with the building soil that's being removed. oh yes and the cost for drainage went up too. not to happy with all of this at this moment Just feels like they are adding more and more costs every second, and excluding more and more that we have to pay for extra and ontop of things. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 25Jul 27, 2017 1:30 pm damn - this building stuff is so expensive. we are hoping our neighbours play nice with the fencing as we need to put in 30cm plinth on one side - which is 25/metre on top of the fence. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 27Jul 27, 2017 1:56 pm our builder asked us to get the site surveyed when we were looking at the fences too to make sure that the boundaries are where they should be Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 28Jul 27, 2017 2:03 pm I think they did that with our build too, will probably hear about the details closer to date, good thing is costings is in, council application is send in, now just waiting for valuation and formal approval loan and council... really hope there wont be any more changes or added costs Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 29Jul 27, 2017 2:05 pm fx - hope you get your approval soon, and then can start building. I truly think that all this stuffing around will be worth it to get s beautiful new home Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 34Jul 27, 2017 6:15 pm is that spoil removal? we have that written in our quote, so hoping that means it is included Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 35Jul 27, 2017 6:17 pm soil removal quoted is for footings soil removal scrap soil removal (they scrape top 10cm of soil from construction area to the side is an additional non included cost i thought the same thing till today as well guess i missed something out of my pre build research Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 36Jul 27, 2017 6:20 pm maybe it won't be too bad a thing for us - we want to build up the backyard a bit as the house is cut into the block and means there is a 45cm drop to the backyard. We were actually looking at buying fill! Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 38Jul 27, 2017 8:35 pm Will be a couple of tun worked out at least 1.44 ton per cubim meter so for us at least 25 ton.
