Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 83Aug 19, 2017 8:35 am oh how frustrating about the settlement. hope that they can pick up a little time on the build Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 85Aug 23, 2017 7:31 pm Conveyancer said she will know by end of week if homestart will be ready to settle next week. And will know if she can formally book in settlement date. So far vendor is good for 30 August (just homestart still processing our formal approval documents that was signed 2 weeks ago?) Also said lot will not be slashed untill day before settlement. The weeds are huge hope they remove the slashed pieces. If not we will need to find away to get rid off them before build start. Anyone have any cheap ideas to get rid of them? Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 86Aug 23, 2017 7:35 pm borrow some goats!! fx for the conveyancer bringing you some good news by end of the week Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 88Aug 23, 2017 7:55 pm Might be different for us, but the demo company will completely clear our block (apart from what we want to maintain) Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 89Aug 23, 2017 7:59 pm Yes because we buy our land and did not demolish we have to make sure weeds/grass is maintained Hickies then scrape when they will build but we pay for the soil from that scrape to be removed(higher rate due to vegetation) the more vegetation the higher removal fees will. So we will try to get rid of all the slashed weeds and as much of the ones left as possible to try and reduce costs. Cost of removal of scraping is still an uncertainty and will only know that when they are done with scrape. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 90Aug 23, 2017 10:20 pm good news then as at least its a step in the right direction. all can hope is that it doesn't rain from just before the scrape till when you get soil removed - thats my hope for when i get site scrape done Also been looking at any landscaping ideas that will use some of this soil but hard to visualise how much there will be. im going out to my block with bags and shovels to remove the weeds i poisoned last saturday this weekend to reduce my vegetation Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 93Aug 23, 2017 11:17 pm would council do hard rubbish? not sure if you haven't built yet, but we get 4 hard rubbish per year and can put out prunnings. there are some restrictions to size and that it must be bundled Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 95Aug 24, 2017 5:40 pm So hubby has to go sign the mp again tomorrow after the seg number was added , only herd bout thaf today, hoping for goid news on settlement date for next week Not sure if it means amended plan has to go to council again for approval? Just for the seg number? Nothing else changed with the plans though layout and structural still the same Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 96Aug 24, 2017 5:50 pm don't think it would nothing in council approval refers to SEG its just for them to provide to SAPN when they go to get your electricity connected. More about making sure site manager etc knows its being done and has been authorised by you the change i made to my floorplan back in the beginning of June resulted in an amendment on council site that was only loaded on tuesday the 22/8. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 98Aug 24, 2017 5:55 pm hope not. i assume i just need my roof truss redesign certified and then loaded and im ready for release. its a simply change to hopefully wont take long. I was given impression on monday it might be tomorrow Thanks NativeZen! I can't wait to start landscaping, though it's going to be a while away yet. No movement on site yet as of the weekend.
