Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 562Dec 11, 2017 10:03 pm Still nothing... was supposed to be tilling today... so we missed joinery & tilling so far. They say they are still on schedule and will catch up... but our date has been moved from mid January to mid February (in my opinion its nit catching up!) No cabentry/tilling have been seen at all Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 565Dec 12, 2017 6:48 am when does Christmas shutdown start. Really hope they pull their finger out Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 566Dec 12, 2017 7:46 am Nawsome when does Christmas shutdown start. Really hope they pull their finger out They close 19/12 - 15/01 Our paving was supposed to be 2nd week in January. They have no new schedule for us at all! And only reply we get is that they are still on schedule! Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 567Dec 12, 2017 9:20 am hope they can achieve a lot this week. I knew there was a Christmas shutdown, but 4 weeks is a long time to be shut down Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 568Dec 12, 2017 10:01 am Nawsome hope they can achieve a lot this week. I knew there was a Christmas shutdown, but 4 weeks is a long time to be shut down They day tradies might still work but are not obligated too. But obviously cant if nothing has been delivered... a snowball effect if waterproofing and gyprock not been flushed and no doors or tiles /joinery delivered then even if they want too work it wont help... We need atleast doirs, flushed gyprock, waterproofing and delivery of tiling abd joinery and bath/shower items for them to continue Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 569Dec 12, 2017 11:27 am Im so mad right now?! We got told paving for driveway will be 2nd week in January now they say it can only be done after handover im sorry but im not paying a scent for incomplete work! How can you give me a incomplete house as a āturn keyā ready house? This does not seem right. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 570Dec 12, 2017 11:32 am maybe they where forgetting it was being done by builder. I would assume bank wouldn't authorise payment until every on the specs sheet was completed which in your case includes flooring, screen doors, Stormwater, paving and driveway i would assume - often things done by owner after handover (as in my case). Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 571Dec 12, 2017 11:34 am Yes but they know they are doing it cause we had to send them the info for the concrete bit from driveway to road I told them nicely in an email we wont pay anything till all is completed. We got told that we will have our last invoice well in advance of pci to authorise payment (i think not! Till its all completed) Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 572Dec 12, 2017 12:27 pm so angry for you. Pretty sure our bank won't pay until after completion and after the bank has checked it too Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 573Dec 12, 2017 12:51 pm its not good. i feel bad that i have actually caught up if not passed you now with my plasterboard up. considering you was slabbed 4 weeks before me i shouldn't have. but yes bank wont release any final funds till its completed, inspected and signed of as to what they are paying for -even if you have signed the form already, signing it in advance may just cut down on the delay for the bank to process it once the completion certificate is issued. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 574Dec 12, 2017 12:56 pm Yep we keep telling them there us no way they are on schedule... they are waisting our time and still we stand by poir planning and execution of our build we are greatly dissatisfied and dissapointed sith them at this time. Our friends electrical was fix following day we had to wait 3 weeks! If they just did linings when it was booked non of this eould have happened but from the start it took us slmost 4 weeks of stretched out work yo get to the slab so many delays! With tradies clearly being available they are bot getting a good review from us for all this stress and poor planning Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 575Dec 12, 2017 6:21 pm Still nothing on site! Email send again complaining now we are going to start leaving negative reviews and hopefully get a response we asked for ss to meet us on site or call us cause they are not keeping to their schedule and getting futher behind. We are extremely unhappy with the progress and have comunicated it to our consultant Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 577Dec 13, 2017 7:52 am Yes suposed to be completed when they open but they moved schedule on and keep saying theyāre on schedule and will catch up. Donāt believe them anymore. More issues since getting new ss. Not happy:( did a review not public yet giving them today to conyact us and sort it if not we go public didnāt want to do it but they leave us no choice. We cant get a straight answer at all Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 578Dec 13, 2017 10:49 am Just got an email saying ss wont talk or meet us! And no work will be done further till they re open! Due to a number of breakins our building is delayed! They are stupid we were on site daily just 1 breakin! Took 3 weeks to fix we had brickies there and there was no ither trades in the house. They are a bunch of layers! Do not teust them! We have been communicating our concerns for over a month now we are told oh yesyour delayed after we got emaild hundreds of times we are on schedule! I am furious! Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 580Dec 13, 2017 4:40 pm Prudiekay That is crap. Was hoping to hear better news from you today. š” keeps getting worse each day!our friends that got released a month after us is almost complete with build! Only paving, paint and floors left for them yet we still dont go anywhere we are at week 10 now since slab and the progress is pathetic! We are looking into takibg this futher tomorrow will call construction manager, not even a negative review got a reaction or feed back from them! They simply just dont care! We are being messed around snd taken asvantage off. This is really an unpleasant experience:( our hoyse is supposed to give ys joy but they have taken it all away So it looks like we finally have some movement on site!
