I thought maybe they had to leave to pick their kids up from school or something.. They never worked on fridays at all Have seen similar behaviour, but they did work last friday, maybe to catch up on the lost say? Or they travel really far Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 503Nov 25, 2017 6:13 pm No electrical today, probably monday thinking it needs to be done befor it gets connected monday? All brick walls done just the window sils and the bits anove windows and doirs left, said yesterday will finish at latest Sunday so figured tomorrow they will complete that Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 504Nov 26, 2017 4:50 pm So our bricking is completed! A couple of minir imperfections that might look like it can go through mortar which im sure they will fix up before pci if not we will bring to their attention and we will make sure all walls/corners are level Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ not sure if its allowed fir gaps in insolation? Or does the wrap make up for it? Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 505Nov 26, 2017 5:13 pm query it as dont think there should be gaps IMO they probably have not finished and will be cutting up batts to use to plug the gaps. From what i have read any gaps will create a thermal bridge reducing its effectiveness http://www.yourhome.gov.au/passive-desi ... stallation also i think building expert has commented on it in some posts http://www.buildingexpert.net.au/blog/t ... yet-again/ Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 506Nov 26, 2017 5:29 pm It looked like they finished till the vandalism... but the photo was taken from a spot that nothing was danaged We noticed a lot of small gaps also excess installation was thrown out when they completed it... also notice that some is to big for the cavity they are in and looks akmost like its folded to get in... Will email elena now and ask that we be send either phito efidince of insolation fixed ir inspect orior to gyprock installation Was hoping new ss would fix up these things and have it fixed up... though im not sure if they are waiting for electrical fix to fix it ir what They might still rectify it as it did look like it had almost no openings when it was initially done Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 509Nov 28, 2017 6:04 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Bricks was cleaned, But they did damage inside house! Plaster board that was stored inside is niw wet and the insolation at the door is wet! Wiuld think they would be mire careful. Calked consultant while we were there no answer so left a message and got a call back while still there. Our ss whil go to sute and assess the damage. Question: whats the diwn side of wet insolation ? Or gyprock that got wet? can it be safed? Or does it need to be replaced? Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 511Nov 28, 2017 6:43 pm Entilzha gyprock i think is likely to bubble or swell and insulation probably compromised as well. i know i wouldn't want it to be used if it was possibly suss. That’s what we thought so reported it that ss can have a look if it needs to be replaced, some insolation definitely was soaked and needs replacement. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 513Nov 28, 2017 8:34 pm Sarah159 Wow you are having no luck! 😔 the trades only ever care about their little job and not the house overall.. Very dissapointing.. Hope they can get another delivery there quickly!! Was thinking the same Really let down and dissapointed! Need things to just speed up and go right ! Feels like all the careless tradies is on our site! Really need things to go right , one would think that people would care! Hoping its not a delay ir alot if damage. That they will replace it quick so we can have our joinery next thursday! Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 516Nov 29, 2017 8:47 pm Not sure what is happening... insolation that was wet is gone and the ones on the floirs has been stacked as well as looks like a but if a ckeanup inside... hoping electrical gets finished tomorrow with the insolation and the aircon piping that the linings can go on and the doors.. Just ferls like nothing is happening except delays! Bit frustrating since joinery is booked for 7th Not sure if linings and 2nd fix will be done before then Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 518Nov 29, 2017 9:36 pm Entilzha 3 payments i got 6 with fees for each They can achieve a lot in a week. yes with homestart we have less progress payments and only start repayment when house is completed and we got keys ir 9 months from settlement which ever comes first:) Hope that linings/2nd fix will and can be done in 1 week! Guess we will see what the ss is made of and if he can do this I believe all my delays was caused by previous ss. So hoping it will be with no more delays:) Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 519Nov 30, 2017 5:28 pm 2 weeks now since the wires issue and no change yet, joinery booked for 7/12 nut looking at the last 2 weeks im bit worried and upset with them! No updates, no progress, no follow ups nothing. Seems that change in ss only caused more delays and issues, We are at this point let diwn and hoghly upset with them! Electrical still not completed, insolation still not fixed, gyprock still nit installed!!! Was supposed to be done on 15 November So it looks like we finally have some movement on site!
