Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 521Nov 30, 2017 10:48 pm Hope so, but with all this rain tonight i just hope no more insolation and gyprock and stuff gets wet Im so over all their poor time management that has now cost damages and delays for us. it just feels like our ss went from bad to worse so far for new one saying he will keep to time line! Our friends all ready have bricks and joinery (they also had things stolen)and they went yo construction 2 weeks after us. Im really unhappy that they managed our build so poorly, Taking 2 weeks to not even properly rectifying the electrical andvthen being careless , at this time i will not recommend them to anyone due to this bad execution of trades and timing as well as informing us on whats going on. It’s raining like crazy i just want to cry cause its now more delays if drywall gets wet! Im just upset and utterly disappointed and unhappy with them. Why could they just not do linings on 15/11 like was planned then non of this would have happened but because they didn’t keep to their planning it messed it all up! its just I mean in 2 weeks doing nothing to rectify the issue that could be avoided if things was done on dates that was adviced.... I just hope they finish electrical, insolation and gyprock today with the doors, so the rest can be finished for the joinery Thursday.... but what is the chances of them doing all this today if they have not done any of it in the last 2 weeks? the most frustrating part is the lack of communication from them! I mean just keep us up to date with what is happening and going on at least .... we pay you a hell of a lot off money to do this job.... it amazes me how quick they want payment for invoices but the lack of rectifying problems ... it should be on the same time frame if they want payment in 7 days then they need to rectify things in 7 days.... have to say the worst customer service so far that I have come across and not to mention the lack of proper planning and time management for our build from the start. this is been really unpleasant and not at all enjoyable for us at the moment. everything for our build has been drawn out like they are not really caring about us but just doing bits and pieces all over the place, just get the tradies in there and do what you are paid to do.... I want to say rant is over... but I really doubt it.... I have at this time no confidence in them with our build and with what they are doing. they are mucking us around and utterly careless with our things. I only hope this improves cause thus far I would not even give them a 1 star rating, due to all these bad things out weighing the good bits we have had. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 522Dec 01, 2017 9:17 am You poor thing!! It must be so frustrating with how slow they are moving. I wouldnt be surprised if things move really quick after the christmas period.. The site supervisors are under a lot of pressures to get so many homes to handover before christmas (our ss alone said he had to handover 20 homes this month) so i think maybe they get all their trades working on those jobs and everyone else misses out. Its really annoying but hopefully things pick up pace soon. They can get SO much done in 1 week when they need to and i think your finish date wont be affected too much. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 523Dec 01, 2017 11:40 am there maybe other things going on in the background as a result of the damage they are chasing up as well. i would rather a slight delay that can be caught up and things be done right that something being missed. 20 homes handover in a month is pretty crazy. Sounds like a bit of pressure there and imagine its on the back office staff too. easy to focus on a single build but trying to juggle dozens at once - no thanks. hopefully your will get there in time for the joinery booking - noting you also have concrete dates etc lined up so as long as they catch up by then its not to much of an issue hopefully Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 524Dec 01, 2017 12:29 pm Its the dates and catching up to them im concerned about. To get the damaged fixed a claim had to be send in to insurance (does not affect fixing) fixing goes through maintenance department. My biggest worry is if they are so slack now how will they be after the build ? Skack/ not reliable if issues come up that they haveto fix ...? but again to be informed or kept ipto date on whats going on will at least help a bit... but total silence... no updates.... nothing Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 525Dec 01, 2017 1:51 pm probably not slack but just very busy trying to get the houses that can be handed over pre shutdown done. as i have noted it seems every second house i look at being built is one of theirs. though no updates and silence would be frustrating when concerned. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 526Dec 01, 2017 4:28 pm Was hoping to see lots of pics and progress since I last looked at your post. So sorry to hear all the troubles you are having Hope they get their act together and you can have your completed house in Feb Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 527Dec 01, 2017 4:39 pm Nawsome Was hoping to see lots of pics and progress since I last looked at your post. So sorry to hear all the troubles you are having Hope they get their act together and you can have your completed house in Feb Thanks! Im rantymore than anything lol Thing the no reply/no follow up/ no feedback is getting to me! Hoping we will have progress soon! This bit has been frustrating Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 528Dec 01, 2017 5:22 pm Got a reply finally! Said our linings due to be completed this week? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that it has not happened? Just went past no repairs of insolation nor gyprock instalked.... unless the tradies work Saturday and Sunday ior have a miracle over night then i can surely say again im given incorrect info! Well we will see monday am, and if nothing then its us and hickies Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 531Dec 03, 2017 12:09 pm will be a busy week if they are still sticking to their timelines for joiners - can almost picture the plasterboard being done where the joiner has to work first so he is working while they complete lining other walls Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 532Dec 03, 2017 3:29 pm Entilzha will be a busy week if they are still sticking to their timelines for joiners - can almost picture the plasterboard being done where the joiner has to work first so he is working while they complete lining other walls Really worried about this! Cause still nothing done! So i can see they are not on schedule so i want them to explain and show us tomorrow how they are on schedule and how the linings is completed... if not how it will be done to stay on the schedule for joinery Unless monday is electrical Tuesday insolation and Wednesday gyprock?? But they insist they are on schedule We are really unhappy and feel that we have not been told the truth and our consultant has no idea whats going on with our build and the new ss is causing more problems and delays and not keeping our consultant up to date for the last 2 weeks absolutely no linings has been done... either way we want this mucking around and mess sorted out tomorrow this cant continue and has cost us 2 weeks! Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 536Dec 04, 2017 9:21 pm Sarah159 Really! Thats crazy! There must be some reason why they arent working on your house. Very unlikely that the joinery will happen this week now 👎 They say we are on schedule hubby will look again tomorrow and then take it further. Will pm you But we did not observe them being on schedule guess there is a huge communication delsy between ss and consultant of whats going on.
