I'm going to get a quote for curtains tomorrow and am worried about the price Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 289Oct 23, 2017 7:10 pm tomorrow is more about getting a quote for the bank pack - we probably won't order anything until a month or 2 before PCI Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 290Oct 23, 2017 9:02 pm where did you get those blinds from? and i think its something i will worry about once i have a PCI date but will be keeping an eye out for anythign really good value anyway and did you go blinds for your sliding doors? enjoying watching your progress photos now as will be a good expectation of whats a couple of weeks away for me now at each step. Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 291Oct 23, 2017 9:07 pm Nawsome - thats what i did with my SW, concrete and flooring - added quotes to be included in the bank valuation with the proviso i can go elsewhere if i got a good deal. Never thought of adding blinds etc to it Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 292Oct 23, 2017 10:32 pm Entilzha Nawsome - thats what i did with my SW, concrete and flooring - added quotes to be included in the bank valuation with the proviso i can go elsewhere if i got a good deal. Never thought of adding blinds etc to it Spotlight - discontinued most blinds/cleareance (we thought to get the when we have a pci, but would have cost us around $2000 - $5500 at least) we went double roller blinds for sliding doors 24x21 we went 2x 120 blinds instead of one big one then we can only open the side we will use. Was a really good price so we decided to take them and in the future we can change it if we want to cause it would not have cost a lot.( with the double ones we can just change the front roller part to whatever pattern/colour) Only thing left for us is to get house... do garden/move in, arrange watertank, arrange gate, areange solar installation.and have utilities switched on.... Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 293Oct 24, 2017 7:30 am not a big list - i got blinds/curtains, concrete/paving, solar installation, flooring installation, fencing and gate, utilities, Stormwater, and garden at least no rainwater tank for me due to purple pipes, im sure there is more. Might try and get down to my local spotlight to have a quick look Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 294Oct 24, 2017 10:51 am Hey - not sure what size blinds and windows you have, but talking to curtain guy this morning and he said with roller blinds, if you want them to be block out, you mount outside the window and then have the roll roll backwards into the frame Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 296Oct 24, 2017 12:03 pm looking at those rollerblinds on spotlight website and thinking ill have to go there this afternoon. just have to decide if i want a double one for front bedroom or save $100 with the cheaper blind like the idea of allowing light in with blind still providing privacy but being able to function as a blockout when needed as well.l. unfortunately i cant split blinds on my roller doors as they are 240 high so have to go for the 240 x240 day/night blind Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 298Oct 24, 2017 3:13 pm this is from the curtain guy - if we want to do day night roller blinds, he would do separate rather than on a double roller. The reason being that you can put the privacy one internal of the frame and then the block out on the outside so that you can have blockout. If you have both internal to the frame, then there will be a slight gap to the side which lets light in Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 299Oct 24, 2017 3:57 pm we have them snd dont have a gap? We have them on inside Blickout against window and privacy one in the front to rooms side I just slip my hand behind privacy one to pull blockout up or down and it works well Re: First jome build SA Hickinbotham 300Oct 24, 2017 6:06 pm Frane complete... but have some hickups Got windows/slide doors delivered today. But diring the morning our neighbours hitwater system got stoken??? Spoke to our construction consultabt: she had no idea our frame was completed!!! She said maybe on 2 weeks, hubby said no its done. And asked bout bricks but she said there is a huge delay with bricking and we can only exspect bricking around end november or maybe even December 😱 Not to impress if you have work then hire contract workers..South Australia has workets available... So apparently things inside will be done and continue till bricks go up 😱 So think roof/gutters/isolation/elecctrical/ maybe Don’t know really! So it looks like we finally have some movement on site!
