Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 07, 2017 6:55 pm Hello, We have just had our plumbing and slab laid. On inspecting the site a few days ago, we noticed a pink pipe that had been placed in the backyard that wasn't on any of the drawings. We will be putting an inground pool into that space as soon as we get the keys, so I'm a little worried about this pipe. On asking the builder what it is, they said: "it appears that this pipe does form part of the sewer and is most likely inspection opening which will need to remain onsite. At this stage, we are unable to have that removed and will need to remain." Our site plan clearly shows an easement of 1.8m from the back fence. This pipe however, is 4 m from the back fence line, well outside the easement. It does not exist in any of our drawings. We have asked them again if they can relocate this pipe and are awaiting their answer, which I fear may be a flat "NO". Can someone please tell me what an inspection opening is and if you think it can be relocated or a pool built over it? I have attached a pic of the dreaded pipe! They might be able to move it but they will probably charge you for it. Worst case, you can also get the pool builder plumbers to relocate it for you. Or get a local plumber to do that for you after handover. Re: Unexpected Sewerage Pipe ruining pool plans- Advice Plea 5Jul 08, 2017 1:18 am An exclusion zone is basically an area in the backyard where you don't want pipe running so that you can put in a pool/spa later. Pipes just run around the pool area not through it.
