Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 28, 2017 2:45 pm Hi, We have been looking at various houses with Porter Davis, and as the end of the financial year comes to a close we are getting told about the price increases etc. She mentioned increases of $15K for double stories and prob $5k for single - well the Kew anyway which is one of the houses we like. I know putting a $2000 deposit hold the current price for us, and they want us to do that this week. The issue is I don't really want to start the build until a lot later than they do, ideally mid 2018. She mentioned that we could probably push the build back once we are in the whole process, but it comes with a late fee - $500-$1000 was mentioned. Has anyone done this before that than can provide any info? Thanks in advance Re: We want to push back our build as much as possible - PD 2Jun 28, 2017 2:46 pm I should mention that this is KDRB as well. Re: We want to push back our build as much as possible - PD 3Jun 28, 2017 2:54 pm All you need to do is not give them all the documentation that they need (proof of funds etc) and they won't move forward into construction phase. To keep the current pricing though, you would be up for around $750 per month in late fees Re: We want to push back our build as much as possible - PD 4Jun 28, 2017 2:56 pm Best check this with them in writing. Even with signing a contract if we caused delays during the paperwork stage the builder had the ability to check prices and increase them if the industry rates and material prices had increased. This was done immediately prior to the slab pour date being arranged so after the 6m of approvals, final mortgage conformation, pre start, building permits etc Re: We want to push back our build as much as possible - PD 5Jun 28, 2017 3:29 pm we signed in last june 2016 and wanted to start to build this july 2017.They charged us 2999 for getting the promotion package and 6000 for 6 month delay. We signed our contract in december and so they added 1000 for each month till our site start. Our site cut is 3 rd july. You might delay the process by rescheduling your colour selection and hence pushing the contract date as close to your site start day coz they will charge from the day of the contract is signed. This was our experience though .All the best yes it is possible but watch for noise transmission, decouple as best you can. Maybe wider top and bottom plates with 70mm studs to allow the cabinet to be recessed fully 1 6636 You can wash over existing pavers with 10% solution of water and hydrochloric acid, then wash off. The acid will provide for required bond key with new concrete. 1 36960 0 9809 |
