Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 25, 2017 11:46 am We are building with Metricon Liberty 45 in Dee Why. 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Our jorney started on the 1 Nov 2016. We have changed 2 Site Managers, well they've quit. The third one is now doing the work, we are much happier with him!!! We are 3 month behind the initial PCI. Our current SM is saying that we will be finished in early October 2017. Fingers crossed. If your build is slow, my advice don't give them opportunity to provide you excuse after excuse...get on them quickly and dont let them go!!! As i am still building never experienced it in real life its hard to advice. I have chosen it because of good feedback and the stylish look. Defiantly what i wanted. My husband and I are constructing our single storey home with Metricon. They offer using Hebel material with their Freedom range designs (ours is Delta25). I read many places that Hebel has excellent insulation but also some places they say it creates cracks in joints as it is vertically screwed in and also it requires maintenance by washing with water every year and re-painting every 10 years. Heard anything about these issues? Re: Hebel is done! 5Jul 31, 2017 8:43 pm Hi, when we were choosing our house we were after rendered look. There are two ways to create that effect. One is using hebel and another one is doing brick and then render it. Cost wise, its cheaper to go with hebel obviously. Regarding the cracks and painting over render is the same in any of the above methods. They still appear on render regardles.Yes i've heard about the cracks and repaint after 10years, even from the M sales guy.If you talk to hebel guys, they will tell you that they are using special foam that allows for wall expansions, ect. Not too fool ourselves, we are prepared to repaint house in 10-13 years as they say. We still like the rendered look. Hope this helps! You need to start a thread with your entire progression so others like myself can follow! If you need help on how, don't be afraid to ask, more than happy to help =) Re: Hebel is done! 7Aug 02, 2017 8:34 pm Hi Dulie, Good idea but i am a bit hopeless at it. Everytime i think i should post then something staffs up. My home is still long way from completion. Electrical and insulation has been done. Waiting for aircon people to come this Friday and then Gyprock will be installed next week. SM is saying that it will take 8 weeks from next week to finish the house. Its hard to believe after so many promisses before. You need to update your title to give people a bit more details. Like Metricon Model of House and State. Then continue to update this thread =) Re: Building Liberty 45 Vogue in Dee Why 11Aug 02, 2017 10:12 pm Thank you for the tips dulie Building with Metricon Liberty 45 Vogue on Sydney Northern Beaches https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88438 Re: Building Liberty 45 Vogue in Dee Why 12Aug 02, 2017 10:24 pm Here is some goodies from my overseas furniture trip. I've called Hebel Office and they told me that its highly recommended by them, so there is no moisture in the walls. No one told me that from M. Not happy as its too late for me!!! As for house wrap, I think you're out of luck, it's standard in QLD and VIC but not in NSW from what I've seen on these forums. Re: Building Liberty 45 Vogue in Dee Why 15Aug 03, 2017 12:38 pm Yeah I have talked to SM and he is saying that its not required in NSW. I would have put it if I didn't miss this one. Oh well, have to live with it now. 🙄 Building with Metricon Liberty 45 Vogue on Sydney Northern Beaches https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88438 Re: Building Liberty 45 Vogue in Dee Why 16Aug 03, 2017 12:45 pm Furniture will only arrive mid to end of Oct. We are trying to make it closer to the handover date which is really hard to predict. You should edit the 1st post in this thread, and maybe add a quick summary of your build details and timeline. After that add a signature to your build thread so it turns up when every time you post. It'll make it easier for people to find it =) Re: Building Liberty 45 Vogue in Dee Why 19Aug 04, 2017 8:55 am RC56 Yes. I heard it from my sales consultant at Metricon. Its not included but he highly recommended it. It costs another $3k extra. But the way he explained we felt its worth it. Yeah i would have done it too. We were overwhelmed with everything what was going on, thinking so many things back then, we've just absolutly missed it. But even during external appoinment someone could've mentioned it. Anyways, it is what it is! Hope people who read this will think twice before they install hebel. ☝️😀 Building with Metricon Liberty 45 Vogue on Sydney Northern Beaches https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88438 Re: Building Liberty 45 Vogue in Dee Why 20Aug 06, 2017 10:51 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Furtive welding job on the weekend to set up for my future celling storage at my garage before gyprock starts on Tuesday! Good to move away from steel anyway for all your reasons, but it's also thermally poor. 16 17858 Hi All, I just wanted to close this topic out with an update. So we ended up agreeing to a number with the insurance company, and after an extensive amount of hand… 8 23401 A Sabco spin mop, minimal moisture, not very regularly.
