Re: When should a "start date" officially take place? 8Jun 23, 2017 8:27 pm 2017istheyear Our builder was so fantastic in the beginning stages, but once we signed the contract they went dead silent and now we're chasing them down. It's starting to get exhausting. It has been 2 months since the contract was signed and they still haven't given us an official start date....however they have been on site and did a site scrape, applied plumbing, and there's an electrical box there. I visit the land at least once a week because my job is close by and I check in just to see what's been done because they don't give us any updates (they haven't even updated us on what's been done above). This is the first home we're building and it's so frustrating and we're still in the beginning stages. Anyway, my partner and I both feel a "start date" is once they do ANYTHING on site. Only thing in our contract is they have 150 days from the start date to complete the home, and we'll receive a letter in the mail once they start. From what you've said you have started lol. The stages you are in now are all weather dependent and you also have to remember it's about availability aswell with trades. Your builder should be at least updating you once a week. Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home. Visit for… 1 15763 Appreciate that Chippy. I won’t do sand under pavers and will connect all up under pavers, however I was going to do: 1) Roadbase compacted with manual hand tamper 2)… 10 18538 |
