Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes Noosa 23 - Ormeau Hills - Week 3 Slab Prep 242Nov 17, 2017 9:25 am So as we get towards the end of week 3 the progress is a little slower than what I would have liked... Plumbing and piering have been completed this week and we are due for slab prep on Monday and Tuesday. This will involve a little more work that usual being that we have a build to boundary wall. Hopefully by next week we will have a slab and possibly frame delivered. Photos to come tomorrow . Did an inspection of the slab and noticed something really concerning... a waffle pod exposed on one side?! structuralBIMGuy @buildingexpert can you please provide some input if possible... I have attached engineering which shows minimum of 375mm of concrete between waffle pod and edge of step down.. Could this just be a piece of polystyrene that has gotten into the pour accidentally? (photo of prep yesterday attached, see top left of photo looks like maybe a small broekn off piece possibly?) The blue arrow shows the TOP of the slab and the edge of the waffle pods which looks to be 150mm as shown in engineering, and the red arrow points to the outer edge of the step down which looks to be 375mm from the edge of the pod as it is supposed to be which makes me think my theory above could be true? The site has now been cleaned and we have temp. fencing up which is making it look great... We unfortunately had our electrical setup delayed which could delay our frames and throw out everything I have been on the phone with Energex to try and get the situation rectified... That is such a pain! Did you guys sign up with your energy provider at contract signing? I believe we signed paperwork for Origin then because our sales guy said it would make everything quicker and smoother because Coral would sort it all? I believe we signed paperwork for Origin then because our sales guy said it would make everything quicker and smoother because Coral would sort it all? Power situation has been resolved! We are getting install done Monday . We did the same, how it works is once you get on site and they install the power box they give you an EWR number. You then call origin (who have all your details ready to go from the paperwork you filled in at contract signing) and give them authority to connect power. They slap you with a $367 bill and let you know it will be 5-7 business days! Re: Coral Homes Noosa 23 - Ormeau Hills - Week 4 Slab Pour 254Nov 24, 2017 1:19 pm Good news you got your power sorted! I don't recall signing up for electricity at contract... Glad you got it sorted though I have heard its quite expensive to hire a generator. Re: Coral Homes Noosa 23 - Ormeau Hills - Week 4 Slab Pour 257Nov 24, 2017 8:34 pm Great it’s sorted maybe be it differs with states but we were emailed details to fill out for connection EWR # & it was done Coral let them know we needed one.
