Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 11, 2016 1:45 pm Hoping to get an opinion here as I'm a bit lost at the moment, planning to build on my land and have found a couple of homes I love but have found that the base price difference between melbourne metro and rural is roughly $30k on a 25-28sq home. I get that we have to pay transport costs and such, this particular franchise have an awesome reputation but I have to wonder if I'm being taken advantage of a bit. I am 50 minutes away from melb metro. Re: Price difference metro vs regional 3Sep 10, 2016 10:58 am I am out in Geelong and our price differed by about $15k i think. It sucks doesn't it. I think we were going to cop $8k when we were looking at going with Henley and some of the builders didn't charge any extra to build regional. Re: Price difference metro vs regional 4Aug 25, 2019 12:20 pm Any other examples of this price differential? we have been quoted a differential of $120,000 for the same house, same builder, just different postcode, both regional, just the more expensive has a beach. Re: Price difference metro vs regional 5Aug 26, 2019 1:00 am the beach one might require different materials? Certain materials cannot handle salty beach air and so shouldn't be used in beach side suburbs. Can't be that much difference, are you comparing a list price with a firm quote with changes as nobody would accept that price difference. It may have been in error also as I'm not getting this kind of differential with other builders at all over there, but getting prices is like getting blood out of a stone and very slow. Keen to hear from people in the area who have got KDRB done on whom they got the build from? Looking for recommendations. Thanks 0 21119 Wow I hadn't realised things had gotten that pricey in just a couple of years since I built, that is crazy with how much land is now costing if you aren't lucky enough to… 3 7212 Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 35560 |
