Coral build- Modified Bronte 42 - We're in!!! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82234&p=1513775&hilit=coral+modified+bronte#p1513775 Re: Modified Bahama 50 123Jul 15, 2017 12:22 pm I have to share this story from this week. I was away for work and my husband texts asking me to call him urgently which is unusual for him to be so alarmed by something. I call & he explains that he's at the block & the windows have been delivered and they're the wrong colour. They've delivered white windows instead of silver/grey. We are so disappointed & so I say I'll call Coral & confirm what's going on. I get straight onto the customer service rep looking after our build & she's very polite. I ask her to confirm what our colour selections paperwork has the window colour nominated as. She tells me "white" and explains that it will be possible to return them & exchange and all the likely costs involved. She emails me through the signed paperwork and I double check. Yes, we chose white & this whole time I've been thinking we chose silver!!!! Has anyone else had this happen? So many choices! I know we went to our colour appt with silver in mind but now I'm am really glad we chose white! Haha!! Re: Modified Bahama 50 124Jul 15, 2017 1:14 pm Bugger!! I had so many variations that we found we signed off on wrong colours that were correctly noted in the colour paperwork but when the variation came back with the wrong colour noted, we didn't pick it up. For example we wanted black flush plate buttons in the ensuite for the toilet and silver in the other two rooms and they incorrectly noted 3 x silver in the variation and we missed it. So I had to just buy one after the build to replace it. I am sure the white will be beautiful. Things happen for a reason. You'll love it! And you'll be glad! Any anyway- who will be looking at the window frames with that knockout view you have !! C U S T O M. C O R A L. Happened to us as well, decide one thing sign on another assuming paperwork would be the same...Double check everything you may be able to get on to things before they are ordered. Well, all but two fixed windows are the back. The kitchen splashback window looks great! The plumbing has been roughed in & we have one of the baths! We spent 2 hours walking through electrical plan with the electrician with 2-3 tiny changes & super happy with his suggestions & thoughtfulness regarding location & functionality! Our SS met us on site this morning & we talked through some tiny changes (moving fridge tap higher & deleting WIR shelving). He's confident of finishing before Christmas but let's see! The bricks have been delivered & wrapping is today before lower bricks start tomorrow/Wednesday. The flat roof over garage was meant be installed last week is going in this week. That would be truly awesome. Great to see that they are good tradies. We'll be lucky to be in by then. Does that seem crazy? We are doing our own floors after handover (tiles throughout downstairs) & carpet in all bedrooms & media room. I think that takes 2 weeks off the timeframes. The plaster and cornice has been delivered already too. Re: Modified Bahama 50 133Jul 24, 2017 5:47 pm How exciting! Did they give you an estimated time frame when you started? We were told a 15 week build and we are currently in week 6 and the plasterboard is finished and the bricks will be finished in the next couple of days. Re: Modified Bahama 50 134Jul 24, 2017 6:16 pm We were told 12 weeks by the ss on the first day we meet him. I think we will handover at 17 or 18. Double story I would think takes longer but in saying that if your ss is on the ball the whole time it could be done. We had a month with no trades. https://www.homeone.com.au/member/bribiebell Re: Modified Bahama 50 135Jul 24, 2017 6:21 pm bribiebell We were told 12 weeks by the ss on the first day we meet him. Re: Modified Bahama 50 136Jul 24, 2017 6:41 pm SS gave us a window between October - January so not that helpful! He's been pretty reluctant to suggest timeframes but today I poked because we need to arrange tiling after handover & asked for a months heads up if possible & that's how we started talking about finish dates. We came into build expecting 24-26 weeks but open to longer with rain etc. Re: Modified Bahama 50 137Jul 24, 2017 8:13 pm We'll be at week 24 when we get handover. But we had a lot of stuff ups with a steel frame. 2 areas were oversized with incorrect dimensions and consequently no trades for 5 weeks that and our SS hates us. For a 2 storey house you're going great guns! You'll be fine, it's looking great and I'm excited to follow your build.
