Woohoo We haven't go the slab and frame inspection report yet, they had to reschedule the inspection for tomorrow. We had a look onsite on the weekend and noticed that the wall frame between the laundry and kitchen is over the top of the laundry plumbing in the slab. Hopefully we'll know more once we have the report. Re: Building Simonds Express - Westbury Premium - East Estat 23Nov 28, 2017 10:43 am Bri1234 smithfamily Bri1234 Yay. Ours did too. We did however notice that the frame in ensuite is over the top of a section of plumbing....and there appears to be plumbing where the oven will go, which is strange in itself, however the frame is over the top of the majority of that plumbing too. Everything else seems ok though haha Re: Building Simonds Express - Westbury Premium - East Estat 24Nov 28, 2017 10:47 am We wouldn't know what to look for so decided to go with an independent inspector. This frame over plumbing seems to be a common thing. This frame over plumbing seems to be a common thing. I've got a few family members who are builders/plumbers/concreters so they know what to look for haha Yeah seems to be.... I've been told it's not a massive issue from a cousin so I'm not too concerned....yet.... We are due to have inspection with SS later this week for frame and roof so will bring it up with him then. Yes true. We will see how we go. Re: Building Simonds Express - Westbury Premium - East Estat 28Dec 01, 2017 1:47 pm Since Tuesday: - Windows and sliding doors installed - Gutters installed - Plumbing rough in completed - Wrapping completed We visited the site last night at 7:30pm to find a tradesman completing the wrapping. Due to the "super storm" coming for Melbourne, he wanted to get it completed prior to the rain arriving, easier than working in all the mud. (Great bloke) Spoke with SS yesterday, roof covering and fascia expected to be completed by Wednesday next week and we will be having a walk through with SS next Thursday. Honestly can't believe how quickly this is progressing! Re: Building Simonds Express - Westbury Premium - East Estat 29Dec 01, 2017 2:05 pm Wow that’s fast. Fantastic. Didn't want to go on site with loose roof tiles. Re: Building Simonds Express - Westbury Premium - East Estat 35Dec 10, 2017 5:42 pm Any updates? I'm keeping an eye on your build because you seem to be tracking along the same pace as us, lol Re: Building Simonds Express - Westbury Premium - East Estat 36Dec 10, 2017 8:52 pm Hi Bri, Yes a couple of updates. Our roof tiles have now been completed, electrical and plumbing rough in also completed. Bricks have been delivered and brickies are expected to start tomorrow. I spent most of saturday roughing in copious amounts of network cable (I'm a bit of an IT nerd haha), which I was surprised my SS let me do, basically all he said was to be done by this weekend and bricks and plasterers start this week so I won't be able to do it after that. So by this coming weeks end, bricks should be completed and we should be about 20% through plastering! We are neck and neck, lol Electric, plumbing, gas all roughed in. Roof done except the barriers are still up. Someone was on site today. When we went to look this afternoon we found that a couple of pallets of bricks had been broken down and put in to smaller piles in different sections at the front and part of each side. There's also a pile of plaster board in the garage. Looking forward to a dry week though because we have a swamp in the back corner. It's actually green, ewwww Re: Building Simonds Express - Westbury Premium - East Estat 38Dec 10, 2017 9:31 pm Bri1234 smithfamily Hi Bri, Yes a couple of updates. It's actually green, ewwww Wow we really are neck and neck haha We just don't have the plasterboard delivered, everything else is exactly the same! And we don't have a green swamp hahaha but it is fairly muddy around. I was looking at getting Simonds to do the data cabling but it would of cost a fortune for what i wanted, 3 network cables to each and every room, security cable for alarm plus network cable for CCTV as well. Was going to do it all after handover, thought I'd ask the question to SS last week (save alot of headaches doing during rough in) and surprisingly he had no issues with It!! Yes a dry week will be nice this week, some good progress should happen!! I'm a little worried that they'll call Wednesday a "too hot" day if it reaches the 36 they're predicting, but we'll see.
