Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 31, 2017 2:38 pm Hello!
My partner and I are first home buyers who have purchased a block of land at Wyee (Coast Central) on the Central Coast which is due for registration around September this year and we are building the 'Harmony Entertainer' with Allworth Homes. I've been searching for forums to chat with people who are building in Wyee, or those who are building with Allworth (building the Harmony Entertainer in particular). Would love to hear from anyone who is either planning to build/ currently building or has built the same home, or using Allworth in general. I think it would be great to chat to others and share the journey as this is our first experience and as exciting as it is, it is a bit daunting! Hope to hear from anyone soon! Ally Re: Building an Allworth Home in Coast Central Estate at Wye 2Jun 02, 2017 1:30 pm Hi Ally, we're building there as well! We're in stage 2 (217). Whereabouts is your block. We're building with Rawson. I would love to chat with. This will be our second build. Regards Nicola Re: Building an Allworth Home in Coast Central Estate at Wye 3Jun 02, 2017 1:32 pm I should say that we're actually renting whilst we build and it's a brand new Allworth home! Re: Building an Allworth Home in Coast Central Estate at Wye 4Jun 02, 2017 4:50 pm Hi Nicola!
So nice to hear from you. I was starting to lose hope that anyone would reply lol! We are in stage 3. When is your block looking to be registered? Sept too? I loved some of the display homes that we looked through of Rawson Homes when we were looking for a builder, in the end our budget worked a bit better with Allworth. Who did you build your first home with? How do you find the Allworth home that you are currently in? Re: Building an Allworth Home in Coast Central Estate at Wye 5Jun 02, 2017 5:00 pm Hi Ally, We've been told August by Rod and September by our solicitor. We are Hodges St. We originally built 15 years with Henley in Blue Haven as a house and land package. The house is actually really good. It seems to be really good quality. I'm not sure what design it is, but it look similar to yours. The only thing that bugs me here is the kitchen. We only have electrical points on the back bench, not the island and it's a pain, also the pantry is a pain despite it's awesome size as it has cupboard doors on there. Re: Building an Allworth Home in Coast Central Estate at Wye 6Jun 02, 2017 8:25 pm We are on Lawrence Ave. I'm always driving past seeing how it's all going lol. Are the doors in your pantry leading into it or are there doors inside the pantry? We've taken the doors out leading into the WIP and put doors inside it (which prob makes no sense). I'll put a photo to help explain. We thought this could be a good idea to hide some of the messy things in the pantry but still keeping a lot of the shelving. Keen to see what you think. I agree with you on the electrical points, we are going to get some put in on the island bench as that would drive me crazy ! Is the house you a building single story or double? How have you found Rawson to deal with so far? I think it's a great idea what you're doing to the pantry. The doors on our opens to the kitchen and take up so much room that we have to close them all the time, so when you're cooking we're always opening the doors. We're building single storey. We're hoping it's our forever home and I don't want stairs for when I'm older. Rawson have been fine so far. Have Allworth been good? We found out that it takes three months from land registration to handing over to the site supervisor with Rawson. Do you know what your lead time is? Re: Building an Allworth Home in Coast Central Estate at Wye 8Jun 03, 2017 1:36 pm Yeah I could definitely see how annoying that would be. Another question with the place you are in now, if it's the same design as ours, in the main bathroom does the shower screen hit the toilet when fully opened? Yeah we like the single story design, we will most likely be starting a family in this house so we were not a fan of stairs either for the reason of little kids etc. We've been told roughly 3 months from registration also. When did you put the deposit down on your block? Have you had your kitchen/electrical appts? We were supposed to get our preliminary plans back last week but hopefully we should get them this week. Allworth have been good too so far, they are building a few homes up there apparently. Re: Building an Allworth Home in Coast Central Estate at Wye 9Jun 03, 2017 3:47 pm Hi, We just opened the door up completely and it doesn't hit the toilet. We put our deposit down in Feb last year. We've picked our external selections, have our plans (still need some changes) and have the interior selection appointment which does electrical/kitchen, in early Aug. Rawson are building a few as well. Re: Building an Allworth Home in Coast Central Estate at Wye 11Jun 08, 2017 8:04 am Hi, We bought a block of land down the south coast that's already registered as its in a pre existing area, but just an empty block. We settle on the 20th so nit far to go. We are going to build the harmony 13 entertainer as even though it's a big block, it's a corner block so side easements only allow for a slim house. We had our first tender with Allworth a few weeks back but using the standard Harmony 13 but with a heap of structural changes and it became a huge mess so they are doing our tender again starting from scratch with the entertainer. We had tenders from 2 other builders but definitely going with Allworth now. We should be in a similar time frame with the same house so it will be great to follow each other Re: Building an Allworth Home in Coast Central Estate at Wye 12Jun 14, 2017 12:05 pm Hello! Sorry for my delayed reply. Great to hear that you are building the same home. It will be great to follow one another and see how its all coming along. Our build probably wont be ready to go until Jan next year (that's if registration is on track for Sept). Have you made many changes with the entertainer? Have you made many changes with the entertainer? Ally We have made a lot, which is why we're having a second tender, the woman I was dealing with has also left the company due to illness so I've had to change sales people and the location they are at. We visited our block on Saturday and realised we need to change it around even more again so I've played with paint and am going in to the office on Saturday morning to start fresh with the new sales guy. Considering we don't even have our floor plans set and have to get a second tender I would say we won't be starting till January too. We settle on our block on Tuesday so that's exciting but not that it changes much, just adds repayments to the mix lol Building an Allworth Home in Coast Central Estate at Wyee 15Jun 20, 2017 4:23 pm Wyeebuild Cool definitely sounds like the builds will be close together. How did you go with the new sales guy on Saturday? Is it today that you settle on the land? Yes we did, a bit anticlimactic as you don't get keys and move in like buying a house, but yes, the land is officially ours! The sales guy was surprisingly good, we've changed plans to the Sonata 12, extending the garage 1.4m wide, 2m in length for a study to offset the other side. Making a whole lot of changes. Straightening out the hallways, adding a 2x 3.6m butlers pantry, behind the kitchen, pushing the pantry and kitchen into the dining area and using the original alfresco for that instead. Then making the new alfresco across the whole 9m width of the back of the house and 3m deep, which is another 3m extension so adding 5m overall, hoping the alfresco add on won't cost too much as we aren't getting it concreted and there's no walls. That's the part I'm most excited about as it faces the water. We are going to deck it all in and have a swim spa or plunge pool in the deck as the deck can be a bit bigger than the roof over it. He said since it's a requote and they've already inspected the site plus I gave them the surveys it should only take a week instead of two, so hoping it happens that way. I took pictures of all the colour choices in their display place so I have to start thinking about that now, but it's finally starting to become exciting instead of just daunting Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building an Allworth Home in Coast Central Estate at Wye 16Jun 22, 2017 2:38 pm Congratulations! Very exciting. House looks great too, looks like you'll be making a lovely home! Alfresco along the back like that will open it all up so nicely too! Re: Building an Allworth Home in Coast Central Estate at Wye 18Jun 29, 2017 8:11 pm Hi Ally, We too are building in Wyee! This will be our first build so it's great to hear others building in the same area. We bought a block also in Lawrence Ave (Stage 1- lot 106) but we have had a crazy couple of weeks going back and forth with the developers. They found a privately owned water easement going across our block of land so they are trying to relocate us to another block. At this stage it looks like the only thing they are able to offer us an an alternative is another block in stage 1 that is 40sqm smaller We are building with McDonald Jones and have all the colours and electrical done and signed off on. However, it looks like we are going to have to change our house design as we can't fit the Monte Carlo on the new block they are offering. It looks like we are going to have a few really expensive months ahead of us trying to get it all sorted. Hope your journey has been a lot smoother than ours Tash Re: Building an Allworth Home in Coast Central Estate at Wye 19Jun 29, 2017 9:10 pm Wyeebuild Yeah I could definitely see how annoying that would be.
