I think i have found the perfect bathroom cabinets too - this will be for the main bathroom. I wanted more storage (can never have enough) and i like the idea of being able to pretty it up by putting a candle or something on a shelf. Win!! http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/S39188435/ Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 105Aug 29, 2017 1:28 pm i think 5 places pgh for bricks, roof, gutters, window frames etc beaumonts for tiles harvey norman for basins, sinks, tapware, appliances etc air conditioning place electrical place and then after that, we go back to adh for the other stuff like paint, doors, robes, shower screens Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 109Aug 29, 2017 4:06 pm We are hoping to have a bit of discretionary money at the end of the build. We currently have my parent's hand me down lounge which is probably 25 years old, the dining table and chairs were bought from previous owner of the house etc. I really am hoping that we can buy some nice new furniture for our place and be able to really make it our place. But I can also see a lot of money disappearing over the next 12 months Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 110Aug 29, 2017 4:09 pm I hear you! We are in same boat My lounge i got from a friend (was her great grand mothers) when we got here 9 years ago or neighbours gave us a dining table and chairs etc. really want t but our own new stuff but oh afraid of the unknowns that might still come up Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 111Sep 01, 2017 1:37 pm Little update - we've heard back from council and they would like us to move our house back by 1.2 metres. Trying to work out whether to just agree and shift the house and to get rescode, or to get it assessed by council planner which could take 8 weeks. I know that moving back 1.2 metres is not much, but will cost us a fair bit in extra concrete for driveways, sewerage and electrical runs etc. We currently have 5.5metres between garage and the footpath which is what we thought we needed. Decisions, decisions But on plus side - think that we are finally happy with working drawings!! We did not know either but was in the development guidelines for the erea and we also had to have either garage/windows rendered as part of the "face look" they want for the area Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 118Sep 01, 2017 2:06 pm yep council/estate setbacks made me have to change one of the things i liked about my base design - lost my little front outdoor area behind garage - original plans actually had a sliding door there and now i will be putting a TV on the wall where that sliding door was - but did end up with a huge garage. front had to have a 3 meter setback and garage had to be 1.5 meters behind that. at least i didn't have to worry about rendering etc Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 120Sep 01, 2017 7:00 pm Looks like easiest/ fastest solution is for us to move back the 1.2metres - at a cost of about 1500 :O but tht will cover changes to footings, extra concreting, service runs etc We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 24820 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 13502 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 8188 |
