We got 6 star energy rating!! woohoo!! So nice not to have to use our allowance for that, especially as we might have spent slightly more than anticipated at tile selections We did try to stick to silver tickers, but wanted a nice splashback in the kitchen and a feature tile for the ensuite. We ended up gong more sandstone colour - so still a neutral - although plan was to go monochromes. And very excited to go blue for the kitchen splashback. Cannot wait to see it all come together Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 125Sep 10, 2017 11:32 pm Hi nawsome just reading through your progress from page 1 Whole build looks great cant wait to see pics of the build. I will say you are lucky only having to put a 3000 litre water tank on your property In my case we have to have a whopping 33,000 litres This is due to living in Blackwood which we got 22,000 litre cfs required steel water tank because we are in a high bushfire zone Council required a 6000 litre storm water retention and then 5000 litre grey water system for toilets etc not to mention the added costs on our contract due to the bushfire rating totalling about $5000 for extra thick windows Sarking in the roof and other bits and pieces. the costs nearly broke our plans of doing this For those reading if you are planning a build in country areas or just areas like mine in the hills with lots of trees around these are costs that you are not told about when signing up. I really went in with a plan for going grey colours, but have ended up with a more brown colour palette. But nice to be different! This pic shows the black tile we chose (top) and a blue tile - half tempted to think about going to the blue tile as wondering if the black will be too dominating. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We haven't chosen kitchen cabinets yet, and have actually delayed our appointment for a week because we need to find out costs from yesterday with appliances and whether we can afford all the upgrades . The plan for the kitchen is to have white cupboards and a sandstone/ taupe colour for the benchtop. We may have gotten slightly carried away yesterday and I fell in love with a Bosch steam assist oven (only 3500 retail which was my entire upgraded budget for the entire kitchen package) Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 129Sep 13, 2017 4:33 pm and apparently we got our certificate for the steel frame - whatever that means! Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 132Sep 13, 2017 5:13 pm awesome oven - fx it fits in the budget http://www.harveynorman.com.au/kitchen- ... -oven.html Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 133Sep 26, 2017 4:29 pm Feeling a bit guttered. We had our kitchen selection today and chose our laminate bench tops and cupboards everything for the kitchen was matched to our feature splashback tile. As we weren't allowed a free sample of the feature tile, we went back to the tile shop to double check all the colours work. Not only is our tile discontinued, but they hadn't reserved any for us. 😭😡 so we have to choose another tile and there is nothing that compares, nothing I want Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 136Sep 26, 2017 4:55 pm pretty rough then as you would expect tiles to remain available longer than that unless they where already on the way out. surely the sales person should have known. hope you find something suitable Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 137Sep 26, 2017 5:06 pm Yep. Really frustrating. Also suspect that if we didn't go in today, we might not have found out until the tiles were due for the build Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 138Sep 27, 2017 11:23 am Good news today We got building and planning approval from the private certifier and all sent to council today. Apparently should get council approval within a week Re: KDR - custom home in Clearview, SA with ADH 140Sep 28, 2017 1:07 pm That sucks I think that's a big mistake on the tile rep. They should of known that the tiles were going to be discontinued soon. But also in my field of work furniture upholstery sometimes you don't find out a fabric is discontinued until I go to order it so sometimes it's the manufacturers fault for not telling us so just keep that in mind too. But it does suck though ! We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37142 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19096 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13443 |
