Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 25, 2017 12:54 pm Hi Everyone, I am having issues with a hallway in our house plan. We decided before we began to plan that we wouldn't have hallways because they are a waste of space! But I am left with this really annoying space in our house that i dont know how to get around having it there. A 3 way poky cavity that goes into the master, bedroom 5 and garage! HELP! Id really love some new eyes to look over it for me. Thanks for your time, looking forward to your ideas I have included the full plan also Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Silly Hallway HELP! 2May 25, 2017 1:29 pm The only way i can see is to have the garage door coming off the entry and extended bed 5 over to family wall and have bed 5 and master doors on family wall but then it reduces privacy to those areas. Depends how much you hate the little hallway. Re: Silly Hallway HELP! 3May 25, 2017 1:33 pm The only alternative I can see is to have the entry to the master bedroom off the family room, and the garage and bed 5 off the entry. Personally I think that is a worse option as it provides no isolation (although without a door across the "nook" isolation is marginal anyway) and will impact on wall space, especially in the family room, which you might want for furniture or picture placement. The bonus is that bed 5 will grow in size. Re: Silly Hallway HELP! 5May 25, 2017 3:25 pm You may as well make your garage storage cupboard bigger and have the garage door in the entrance. I wouldn't change anything else as you don't want bedroom entries off the main living space. It would look better if the cavity entry was a bit smaller though, I'd bring the master door down next to bed 5 door.
