Throughout the whole process we chased and chased the stage certificates (slab, frame, engineering, etc), only to be brushed off by the builders multiple times and told we would "get these at the end". Impossible now as they no longer exist. Is there ANY WAY to collect these retrospectively? We have already contacted the original appointed certifier, who claims the certificates are with the builder. They have no copies of them. We are also contacting council to see if the certifier had lodged them at each stage (unlikely, but it's worth a shot). QBCC does not give advice on this - it's a minefield and they don't want to get involved. It just feels like no one wants to take responsibility for these. We took a million photos of everything throughout the entire build. Is it possible to present these as evidence to a certifier to get the required certifications? Any assistance, advice, or where we could start, is greatly appreciated.
