Experience has been good so far. Nearly 2 months into the build and already getting the kitchen installed! Hope your build is as good as ours has been Re: Oracle Platinum Homes Advantage 196 Hunter Valley 6Jul 20, 2017 4:23 pm Hi guys! Our DA was approved two weeks ago and we have now made all of our final selections. Pink I looked at your thread a lot when we first starting looking with Oracle. Your house looks great! Hello Maykojebu3! I think the company varies a lot between NSW and QLD so I don't think we will have a fast build like you! Oracle Platinum Homes Advantage 196 Hunter Valley 7Jul 20, 2017 4:39 pm We decided to go with the following...
Bricks - Austral Orpheus Austral Metalixx Platinum for the two front piers only. Roof - Bristile designer magnum Gutters - monument Fascia - surfmist Garage - surfmist Windows -white Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our interior selections Main floor tiles -élysée calacatta 450x450 matte Wet area floor tiles - tempo charcoal matt Wet area walls - classic Carrara Vanity cupboard - polar white Matt Vanity benchtop - smartstone Marengo Kitchen cupboards - black wenge Matt Kitchen benchtop - smart stone Arcadia Paint - the builder is going to match dulux tranquil retreat in taubmans Carpet - bedrock highlight Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Some of our upgrades Accent doors through the house instead of standard flush 75cm 5 burner gas stove top instead of standard ceramic Lever front door handle instead of basic knob Bulkheads in the kitchen Shower niches in our ensuite We also changed our front door as we did not like any of the doors oracle had in the selections book. We are having pendant lights put in after handover as the builder wanted $300 for 1 exterior downlight!! We are having this one in the entry Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And two of these over the kitchen bench Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Oracle Platinum Homes Advantage 196 Hunter Valley 9Jul 21, 2017 12:43 pm Looks great!! Love the choices! Here in NSW we dealt with oracles electrician directly we saved almost $2000 in electricals paying the electrician directly when it got to our electrical stage. Oracle add margin & gst such a rip off. It cost us about $80 per pendant light it will cost you more after handover. I recommend you look into it ☺ Re: Oracle Platinum Homes Advantage 196 Hunter Valley 10Jul 21, 2017 12:53 pm Did you just ask the electrician when he arrived on site? We actually have a good friend who is an electrician so it wouldn't cost us much apart from the actual downlights that we need to buy. Re: Oracle Platinum Homes Advantage 196 Hunter Valley 12Sep 01, 2017 10:33 pm Hi Shannon, nice selections. We are building with Oracle in Qld too. We haven't quite started, our land has registered, council approved, we are waiting on the final plans before we can be given a start date. We already have a certificate to commence construction from the bank. I find the administrative part painfully slow, we signed our first contract in January. Can't wait to start am getting impatient. Hope it all goes well for you☺️ Re: Oracle Platinum Homes Advantage 196 Hunter Valley 13Sep 18, 2017 10:21 am mafu1983 Hi Shannon, nice selections. We are building with Oracle in Qld too. Hope it all goes well for you Hi Mafu1983, We have just received our construction plans and ATC and now in production estimating. We still need our construction certificate. I'm getting really impatient now. Who knows when we will actually start. I think the interest only period of our loan will end before we are in It's honestly frustrating, we just signed our construction plans and returned them last week, haven't heard anything about a start date. I am getting so annoyed with Oracle, I read their reviews before I went with them but was assured by their sales person that things weren't as bad. I regret going with them sometimes, everyone around us seems to be progressing so well with their builds except for us. I hope all goes well for you, please keep us updated. Re: Oracle Platinum Homes Advantage 196 Hunter Valley 15Sep 22, 2017 11:07 pm We are in the same boat, Oracle initially told us our home would be ready March 17, this came and the slab wasn't even down. Next we were told probably August 17, well that's been and gone and still not finished. In the contract the build time frame takes them to the middle of October. I don't even think it will be ready by then. They are shocking...... Started yet?? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89712&p=1756787#p1756787 Re: Oracle Platinum Homes Advantage 196 Hunter Valley 18Oct 07, 2017 4:34 pm Hi guys! Everyone seems to have similar stories about oracle. We haven't started yet but we spoke with Kathy from NSW on 3rd of October and she said we will be on site within 1-2 weeks? Who knows though. Our CSO never replies to any emails and is always off sick.
