Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 20, 2017 12:21 pm Hi All,
My fiance and I have decided that we will be building with Henley Reserve (previously Mainvue). We titled our land in Merrifield just under a year ago, and had been battling on which version of the Amalfi to build. We originally seen and fell in love with the Amalfi 33 (previously Amalfi 632) at Greenvale Gardens. But after much deliberation and excitement, we opted to go the Amalfi 30 (532). TIMELINE: Land titled - June 2016 First Deposit - May 2017 Cosham Information Session - 21/05/2017 Second Deposit - 24/05/2017 Colours Appointment - 16/06/2017 Tender - 17/07/2017 Contract - 17/07/2017 File handed over from Administration to Construction - 28/09/2017 Slab poured - 23/10/2017 Changes Include: - Milton facade with front render and tiled pillars. - Aluminium cornerless bifolds with extended height. - Wider jamb to bifolds for future flyscreen. - Aluminium windows through out. - Picture window upgrade to dining room - Brick to the corner of Bed 4 in lieu of fill in. - Pivot door to entry. - Fly screens. Internal Changes Include: - Butlers upgrade - close off second door and add cavity slider to kitchen. - Cold water point to fridge space. - Add double cavity sliders to ensuite. - Shower niche to both ensuite and main bathroom. - Free standing bath with picture window upgrade to ensuite - Extended shower with free standing toilet upgrade. - Squared off WIR to allow for more shelving. - Add double cavity sliders to theater. - Mirror splash back to kitchen (post hand over). - Wall mounted ovens. - Frameless mirror sliding doors to all wardrobes. - Add cavity slider to rear passage We decided to install flooring post handover to save cost. We couldn't justify 8k for cat 1 flooring. Re: Our Henley Build - Amalfi 30 3May 25, 2017 5:15 pm Thanks Linh.. It's our first build so we're very excited. We're yet to confirm a date for our colour selection, but we are big fans of Grey/ Charcoal tones for the exterior and interior will be mostly white with laminate flooring. Once we've had our colour appointment, I'll upload some photos Re: Our Henley Build - Amalfi 30 4May 25, 2017 5:22 pm Definitely visit Cosham Interiors as much as possible My partner and I are also building with Henley (Sahara 36) and I've lost count of how many times we went there on the weekends hehe Hopefully you get a Colour appointment soon! Re: Our Henley Build - Amalfi 30 5May 25, 2017 5:59 pm Thanks What colour scheme did you opt with? We're building in the North, if we lived closer to Mount Waverly, Cosham would be refusing us entry haha. We've been twice now and I'm still pretty solid on Antique Rossell Oak C4 flooring, Staturario Maximus ceaser stone (whether or not we get this will come down to price), I also like the Austral Iron brick (again this will come down to $). Have you started your build with Henley? Re: Our Henley Build - Amalfi 30 6May 25, 2017 6:21 pm With our exterior, we went with Truffle bricks, Monument for roofing, downpipes, fascia and gutters & Black windows. With our interior, we went with whites, greys and browns. If you find a helpful Colour Consultant when you visit on the weekends, ask for their name. That way, you can actually request to do your Colour appointment with the same person. Loving your selections so far. Hopefully they gave you all the pricing booklets at the Information Session. I found the Hynes website was great as well (shows most of the tile, laminate and timber options available from Henley) if you can't make it to Cosham regularly - https://www.hynesgroup.com.au/ We had our Colours Appointment on Tuesday but our Tender/Contracts isn't until early July. Im also building the Amalfi too, we've just been boxed up so hopefully slab tomorrow (fingers crossed) Re Staturario Maximus OMG i soooooo wanted that too, had my eye set on it right up until colour appointment. was pretty disappointed when i was told its about 7K for island bench and back bench can't recall if that price was for the butlers pantry too and if you've added waterfall ends add another 1-2K at least for that, so i sadly said bye bye to that option Will be following your build with interest. oh by the way i still have my pricing booklets let me know if you'd like me to send them to you. Re: Our Henley Build - Amalfi 30 9May 29, 2017 6:23 pm Thanks for the link Linh. I've cast my over it a couple of times now! Very helpful Oh D.Sao-Mafiti don't tell me that! We were given a pricing booklet on the day of the information session. But a lot of the items we like are POA. We might need to source other options for bench tops, I'm not too eager with the 7k+ price tag either haha. Congrats on the slab stage. No doubt it will all feel so much more real once that's down. I'm excited for you! What version of the Amalfi are you building? Re: Our Henley Build - Amalfi 30 10May 29, 2017 11:14 pm I'm building the amalfi 32, wanted the 34 with the study but it wouldn't fit our land. the 32 has left us with a 4.5m back yard not ideal with 3 little ones but hay we're building to live inside not outside lol my reasoning anyway. Dont hesitate to ask me for any pricings I'm happy to share, it use to drive me nuts not knowing and not being able to have an estimate before tender which was a shock by the way lol and i noticed you added cavity sliding doors to your ensuite IF your planning to do floor to ceiling tiling they will only tile half way up the wall where the doors are which defects the whole purpose of having the whole ensuite tiled. i had to change the cavity doors to 2 pull out doors not what i wanted but the love for floor to ceiling tiling was stronger Re: Our Henley Build - Amalfi 30 11May 30, 2017 9:55 am I like your analogy! Good point on the cavity doors, we may need to reassess our options here also. What upgrades did you go for? I'm interested to know what colour scheme you ended up going with? Re: Our Henley Build - Amalfi 30 12May 30, 2017 9:32 pm pretty similar to yours but ended up deleting a lot at tender when i saw i was 20k over budget eeeekkkk! but i stuck with these -Milton Facade with render to pillars external colours same as linh except our down pipes are Jasper on the advice of colour consultant -2340x1200 pivot door -wash and wear walls -mirror sliding robe doors to bedrooms 2&4 -increase height to alfresco sliders -marine grade security door to laundry -raised theatre windows -bigger window to brm 4 -evaporated cooling -floor to ceiling tiles in both bathrooms and behind mirrors in both powder rooms -under mount sinks to bathrooms and kitchen -shower niches -stone to laundry, added broom cupboard, pot draw and full length bench -caesar stone cat 4 to kitchen cat 2 everywhere else -300x600 porcelain tiles for flooring -added draws where possible in lieu of cupboards -moved dishwasher and microwave to butlers pantry and add cutlery draws and a few other little things, doing carpet and ovens after hand over. colour scheme, i went with grey, light grey, white grey, grey grey, a little bit dark grey this is me trying to up the anti from white lol but on a serious note mostly light greys, white and a bit of black Re: Our Henley Build - Amalfi 30 13Jun 02, 2017 2:14 pm Fanastic! Is it in the information booklet you get from Cosham or is this something they provide at tender? ta _________________________________________ Regards Manj https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88256 Hi, If you give a set of criteria as to what means 'good' to you, it'll give others prompts to respond.
