Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Metricon Trentham Build - The Baby Bordeaux 61Nov 07, 2017 4:59 pm I’m happy that he was upfront but would have been nice for someone to let us know earlier. We sold our first home but had a really long settlement so that we could hopefully move just once from old home into new. Since our last SS had always said before the end of the year we were just going to borrow my parents caravan and be gypsies for 2-3 weeks which would have been fine. Now it looks more like 2-3 months and we have to sort our accommodation before our current house settlement which is only 3 weeks away. Soooo frustrating!!! I dread to think Metricon doing that too us if we were In the same position with 9 kids. Good thing we can sell our house after we move into the new one. I don’t think m really think what they put people through. I’m pretty sure one of the reasons why my ss has done the house so fast. Was because he knew I had 4 boys in one room who are killing each other as they have no space in there. As I told him from the beginning we were desperate. I hope your ss sticks too it. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Metricon Trentham Build - The Baby Bordeaux 63Nov 07, 2017 7:10 pm Haha. I can’t even imagine how stressful that would be with a big family! Just hubby and I and our little cat for now! It’s just been disappointing that at every stage we have had different M staff promise dates that have never been kept. I was hoping that would all finish with getting through the admin marathon. Lol. Same story for a lot of us though. As long as the quality is there at the end then we will be happy. Re: Metricon Trentham Build - The Baby Bordeaux 64Nov 07, 2017 8:06 pm Hi my wife and i are about to embark upon building a trentham 30. We like your stsirs and just think they look so much better than the standard set up. Have you had them stained yet? Yeah it’s crazy so many fights not enough room. And yet it’s a 47sq home. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Metricon Trentham Build - The Baby Bordeaux 66Nov 08, 2017 6:26 am davi Hi my wife and i are about to embark upon building a trentham 30. We like your stsirs and just think they look so much better than the standard set up. Have you had them stained yet? Oh cool, congratulations! Which facade are you going with? Will be good to see a few more Trenthams on here! Our stairs are pretty much standard, the bottom two stairs and the handrail will be stained and the rest will be carpeted after handover. Stair upgrades are expensive with M and our budget didn’t stretch that far! Re: Metricon Trentham Build - The Baby Bordeaux 67Nov 08, 2017 6:34 am Doulton777 Bethany Haha. We thought we’d wait and see what we thought of quality and SS to decide if we’d need one. Hubby’s business is in the construction industry so he’s pretty good with seeing things and knowing building standards. His eye is much better than mine for sure! Oh that’s good at least your hubby knows things about it. Metricon also have their own that they use as well. I guess it’s incorporated into the price. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Metricon Trentham Build - The Baby Bordeaux 70Nov 08, 2017 4:55 pm davi Weve picked the plantation. We have lived in a double story before and am concerned how tatty the carpet will become with use and cleaning stairs are easier in just timber Yeah I’d love timber stairs the whole staircase but not happening this time for us! Wasn’t high enough on our priority list. I was also concerned about the carpet but we’re getting high quality heavy duty carpet after handover that is meant to wear okay for stairs. Have you put down your initial deposit yet? Making any changes to floor plan? Re: Metricon Trentham Build - The Baby Bordeaux 71Nov 08, 2017 7:54 pm We have put down initial deposit and have attached garage to house , with entry to house from garage via laundry. We have mirrored the plans so master is on nth boundary facing east. Re: Metricon Trentham Build - The Baby Bordeaux 72Nov 08, 2017 8:27 pm We looked at having the garage entry through the laundry but between our funny shaped block and the provincial facade we decided on detaching it. It works well to keep the facade symmetrical with the style. Looking forward to seeing your progress on the forums. Re: Metricon Trentham Build - The Baby Bordeaux 73Nov 16, 2017 8:59 pm Just a collection of pics from the last couple of weeks - stone benchtops, render is finished, front doors installed and they've started painting inside. Loving the paint colour and skirting boards! I wish ours was stained darker, stupid studio M in QLD wouldn't let our door colour match our dark stairs for some reason.
