Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Metricon Trentham Build - The Baby Bordeaux 82Dec 09, 2017 3:34 pm Bethany Just a collection of pics from the last couple of weeks - stone benchtops, render is finished, front doors installed and they've started painting inside. Loving the paint colour and skirting boards! Interested in seeing stairwell Re: Metricon Trentham Build - The Baby Bordeaux 83Dec 09, 2017 8:45 pm Here’s an update and photo spam! Paint, most of electrical and tiling is done. Main things left to go are pillars on the portico, staining stair case and plumbing and other fit offs. Plus fixing all the finishes we aren’t happy with which will no doubt be time consuming. Flooring and feature lights will be post handover. On a positive note, very happy to see our colour choices coming together just as we hoped! Kitchen design is very similar to ours are you shaker profile does beveled or squares set 2pac? Our shaker profile I’m pretty sure is beveled. They aren’t actually 2pac, they are the ‘formwrap’ doors (new branding of vinyl wrap) in a settler profile. It was a gamble as we hadn’t seen them installed but I do love the satin finish on them, hopefully they wear okay. Seems to be mixed opinions on the forum on vinyl wrap. We originally wanted formwrap as we have it now on our place and love it. So tuff and durable and way to easy. We didn’t want the beveled profile shaker and in hinge sight we should have selected the beveled to space money and get a better product than 2pac. 2pac paint is very thin and seems to scratch to easy and so the inner colour. We left a message that mentioned what we weren’t happy with so hopefully he’s taking so long because he doesn’t want to talk to us until it’s fixed... Haha. 🤞 Re: Metricon Trentham Build - The Baby Bordeaux 91Dec 15, 2017 4:35 pm So they agreed to fix it? I am so jealous (but happy) you were able to build this house. I’m building a Newhaben which is essentially the designer version of the Trentham and slightly larger. When I asked to incorporate items from the bordeaux to the newhaven, I was told no they don’t do it. So i’m really glad they’ve let you do it cause it’s awesome and your house looks great! The tiles in particular are a stunner. It hasn’t been that many additions to the facade really so I don’t see why they wouldn’t let you. We did know our sales consultant tho so that may have helped us out! I don’t see how it can be something they can’t fix as it’s not something I’ve just decided I don’t like, I actually don’t think it would meet the standards and tolerances. House is almost complete. Electrical and plumbing fit out all done and the house has been cleaned. Main things left are the balcony tiling and balustrade, portico plaster and columns, staining of staircase. Then fix up time for bits and pieces we aren’t happy with! The tiler is back second week of Jan, our SS agrees that the kitchen tiling finish isn’t good enough so hopefully we get a good outcome!
