Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 - Bricking! 294Dec 15, 2017 6:22 am Rachael13 13 Weeks ago we were handed to Constructions stage. Have walkthrough with SS today so we'll go over the house. Am actually looking forward to finally meeting our SS. Wish him luck LOL Oh haven’t you met him yet? Yeah good luck to him, sounds like he’s going to need it, lol Re: KDR - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 - Bricking! 295Dec 15, 2017 12:59 pm Met our SS today and we went through Darbecca's last report, which was great. There are a few items that won't be fixed till later in the build, I get this and these items are; water management which is an ongoing item, roof alignment will be fixed once the scaffolding is installed for the brickies. Gutter and fascia damage will be fixed before handover. Structural issues are all fixed as well as framing. Plumber needs to come back to check why the storm water is not draining and put CCTV down the pipes.. Insulation guys were onsite packing the walls and roof cavity, and ensuring that the wrapping was all water tight as there were sections missing and gaps. Brickies were no where to be seen, but should have been onsite according to the SS. Whilst the garage wall is being bricked overhanded, the outside wall will be washed down with the rest of the house. I'll need to contact the neighbours closer to the time as the brick washers will need to be on their property and hang over the fence for this to be done Some of the tradies will be working through the Christmas period but SS is taking time out. Asking for an estimate timeframe for completion and we are looking at the house being ready in May. I reckon that this is better than July. I did almost drool when I saw the bath hob in the ensuite.... Few pics What will eventually be the kitchen with butlers pantry on the left. We have narrowed it down to Spotted Gum for the laminate and we are still in love with the salt n pepper carpet for upstairs. What we need to do now is work on the brands that we like and then compare prices. We ending up buying what we wanted. Couches are very comfy, hubby approved for the depth of the seat, and I get the softer look for the chesterfields. What we are a little unsure of is whether we want the round ottoman or to change it to a square tufted one. I'm thinking of keeping the round ottoman as I can put this into my dressing room and we can get the square ottoman later for the lounge. We bought two chairs in linen, two 3.5 seaters couches in velvet, and the round ottoman also in linen, colours as below. They will be ready for delivery in 13 weeks, and might be able to be held for another 6 after that. I'm hoping that these are delayed Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So this will be our "extra" Christmas present to each other...... 🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻 We also had to go past the house as stalkers do and majority of the installation is completed. Re: KDR - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 - Bricking! 297Dec 17, 2017 10:28 am Loving the couches, very nice. We need to go looking after Christmas. Flooring choices look great. Love the spotted gum. Hope the rest of the issues with the build are sorted soon. Re: KDR - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 - Bricking! 298Dec 19, 2017 4:54 am Bricking and plastering is now happening on site. Our front piers had to be torn down as the bricking was not correct and they have restarted again. Our SS has had to go back to the powers to be, as the foil was not installed on our external garage wall and the insulation batts have been installed. As this is a 6 star energy requirement, there is no way that it can be left like this. This is the little piece that told us there was no foil on this wall . . I'm a little concerned on the velvet for the couches but I think that I'm just over thinking the furniture. Hoping that it's not to heavy in the new lounge. The chairs are in linen so that should be ok. I didn't think that I'd be this concerned with what the couches look like, as I never have before. lol Re: KDR - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 - Bricking! 300Dec 20, 2017 7:12 pm With the rain last night our lap pool is back... Plasters are in the house and I think that they have hung everything upstairs. They have started the ceiling in the open plan area downstairs and also the butlers pantry.. Bricking continues SS is trying to get the house to lock up before the break but has advised us that tradies will continue to work over the next few weeks, even though Henley is going on holidays. Here's some updated pics. House from the back.... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Alfresco .... bricking under the stackers. We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37085 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19068 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13437 |
