Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Ausbuild Stretton Heights - First Home Build QLD 21May 26, 2017 12:17 pm So got some great news late yesterday! My solicitor rang and told us the developer is ready to settle for the land woooooot! Once the land title is ours we can then submit our plan for council approval which I believe takes average 2 - 3 weeks for Brisbane city council Follow my build on https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic. ... 9#p1705289 Re: Ausbuild Stretton Heights - First Home Build QLD 22May 26, 2017 1:08 pm Woo hoo! Great news! Hopefully your approval is speedy, ours took nearly 8 weeks! But not with BCC, it was Ipswich. Re: Ausbuild Stretton Heights - First Home Build QLD 23May 26, 2017 1:25 pm Congratulations. Re: Ausbuild Stretton Heights - First Home Build QLD 25May 27, 2017 9:36 am Mai Panda KangaBanga Hi Mai, Congrats you can start building soon and probably get in before christmas. One thing with pivot door you will be unable to put security screen or mosquito screen in the future due to the way the pivot door works.. Looks good but not that practical i think in Brisbane weather. Otherwise all your plans looks good! Thanks KangaBanga, hopefully we can get in before Christmas that would be ideal. Cheers for the info, I have seen people who has pivot doors that has security screen in front of them so its possible I guess. I just like the idea of able to bring large furniture through the door if need and we both like the bigger door design. check out this thread about pivot doors, they probably know more about what they are saying than me. The other option is big double doors for furniture. viewtopic.php?f=23&t=37952 Re: Ausbuild Stretton Heights - First Home Build QLD 26May 28, 2017 7:02 pm Settlement is exciting... soon your home will start coming to life! - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Re: Ausbuild Stretton Heights - First Home Build QLD 27May 30, 2017 1:05 pm Definitely very exciting time ahead We got a quote for off white mortar for the entire house and it came back $1330, personally I thought this might be a bit too much considering we only have face brick for ground floor. The other option is to have off white mortar only to the front facade this came in at $325. We want off white mortar because we went with a dark shade of bricks (Metalix Bronze Australbricks range) but we also have another face brick as feature for the front (cloudy grey australbricks) and rest of the house is using chiffon from urbane one range. How much are people paying for when upgrading to off white mortar? You will need to go to them sometime to finalise all light fittings and other stuff. Just checking. Re: Ausbuild Stretton Heights - First Home Build QLD 32Jun 05, 2017 1:30 pm Yeah that is correct we are doing light fitting after hand over, so Ausbuild is just going to do the light provisioning part. So maybe that's why we didn't have to go see ideal electrical. The developer seems to have been hiding something, go check with the council first about your final street name (looks like a townhouse address instead for some reasons?) and see if we all get the same answer? Hi Benre my previous sale made the same comment about the house number to me just couple days ago, I haven't heard anything from the developer or my solicitor about it but I have asked the solicitor to find out our street number so far no reply. Once I found out I will post it up here.
