Builder has recessed the door but the door is pretty much touching the concrete. Slides fine without flooring but as soon as I want to put the tiles in, it won’t fit. The builder is claiming I need to cut the door so that the tiles fit under the sliding door? You need to let your builder know what flooring you are installing then the recess is made to allow for the flooring thickness. The goal is to get the finished floor level with the sliding door track. If you are using a thicker flooring, like timber the recess won't be as deep. It's a detail a good builder would discuss with you. To make sure you get it right. Instead they are telling me that I need to cut the doors for the tiles... I would’ve thought they recess the frame and allow for flooring, not tell the owner that they need to cut the frame to allow for flooring because I asked for it to be recessed? Said it’s not their issue. I’m in a similar position except I’m after sliding 3 stacking doors.
