It's always great to have a good nosey around. It's better when stand there and go - "yep, I can get use to living here" It's coming along really well, outside looks amazing. I love gables - something about them just add so much character. Have you been given an update for what the next steps are? Re: KDR - SE Melb - Simonds Flinders - BRICKING 382Jan 17, 2018 9:07 pm lol Rachael The lock on the door was stuck in so I didn't want to close and lock it just in case there was a reason for it. So I closed the door and placed a brick against it so from the street it looks closed. Yeah it is nice to get a look around It seemed so quiet inside with all the insulation and brickwork done. We had about 5 facades to chose from. We really liked the front window of this one and the gable. Can't wait till they are painted to see the full effect. So the cladding at the front still needs to be finished. They seemed to start clearing up the outside today but didn't finish. I think after that they will back fill with dirt again. And plaster will hopefully go up. That's what I'm looking forward to next to really get a feel for the room sizes. I'm expecting the "Locked Up" Invoice to arrive in my email any day now. Have you had yours yet? Re: KDR - SE Melb - Simonds Flinders - BRICKING 383Jan 19, 2018 11:59 am Wow plumbers are working today. Brave guys in this heat. Looks like they are doing our down pipes. Yesterday the site was cleaned up. Re: KDR - SE Melb - Simonds Flinders - BRICKING 384Jan 19, 2018 12:06 pm Bri1234 Wow plumbers are working today. Brave guys in this heat. And I don't like the look of it at all. It looks butt ugly! I'm just hoping that when it's painted it will look better. The down pipes are all going to be monument (dark) and the post is going to be Surfmist (very light, same as the windows). I'm not sure how that will look. . Not sure what would be best having it surfmist or momument. Re: KDR - SE Melb - Simonds Flinders - BRICKING 388Jan 19, 2018 9:48 pm They did do well the way they have angled it. And I get we need one there but it just looks so ugly. I'm hoping the it being painted a darker colour will help it kind of blend with the darker bricks behind it and the post being lighter will stand out more. Fingers crossed. They did well today, all down pipes were installed but not plumbed at the bottom yet. I wasn't expecting any work on site in this heat. Re: KDR - SE Melb - Simonds Flinders - BRICKING 389Jan 23, 2018 12:44 pm All quiet on site so far this week. They didn't look like they'd been there long. Popped back about 5.45pm for a sneak peak and they were still working away. Haha Re: KDR - SE Melb - Simonds Flinders - PLASTERING 396Jan 29, 2018 4:03 pm Drove past earlier to find someone cleaning the bricks. Popped back a little later to find nice clean bricks yay. They'd blocked off the front door again but the garage door is still unlocked so I went in. Found a stack of doors and a pile of architraves had been delivered. Emailed Lock Up invoice to bank and got a call back this afternoon. A valuer needs to go in and inspect the property before they will release funds. They want to go in tomorrow. Of course it's past SS's knock off time. I've messaged him requesting a call. Re: KDR - SE Melb - Simonds Flinders - PLASTERING 397Jan 29, 2018 6:12 pm Wow - your build is speeding along. Can't believe that you've already being invoiced for lockup. Brickwork must look amazing now that they have been cleaned - where's the pics ?? Doors will be on in no time, and so nice of them to leave a door open for you Re: KDR - SE Melb - Simonds Flinders - PLASTERING 398Jan 29, 2018 10:14 pm Rachael13 Wow - your build is speeding along. Doors will be on in no time, and so nice of them to leave a door open for you The bricks do look good. They were still wet but here’s a sample before and after. Spoke to our SS this afternoon. He’ll be onsite part of the day tomorrow and trades will be onsite too. So there shouldn’t be a problem with the valuer having access to inspect. We’ve also scheduled a walk through with him next week Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: KDR - SE Melb - Simonds Flinders - PLASTERING 399Jan 30, 2018 6:58 am Bri1234 Rachael13 Wow - your build is speeding along. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 8194 |
