Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 14, 2017 2:22 pm Just started our adventure of a first house build! Had our tile selection yesterday which was exciting and our gallery selections are next Wednesday. Excited is an understatement! Just worried about trying to create a house from tiny samples but hoping for the best! If anyone has any advice throughout a house build please feel free to share as I'm sure there is lots to know/find out a long with the way! Re: Simonds Prague Modified SA 2Apr 14, 2017 2:31 pm Visit as many display homes as you can so you can see things in real life size, the sales consultant at the display should be able to give you the details of what's in each display home. Good luck with it, it's a very exciting time Re: Simonds Prague Modified SA 3Apr 14, 2017 2:36 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Well that's our floorplan and I have dragged my partner through so many display houses it's ridiculous haha! He had his heart set on brown bathrooms but in the standard range there was no brown tiles only in a few categories up. So we had to settle on grey bathrooms so hopefully they have the colours we want at selections π Re: Simonds Prague Modified SA 4Apr 14, 2017 2:46 pm Hi! Your floor plan looks great I really loved the simmonds display homes. We spent most of our time looking during the summer holidays so I dragged my husband and three kids through display homes - I would not recommend it where abouts in SA are you building? Re: Simonds Prague Modified SA 6Apr 14, 2017 9:02 pm Yay, another SA build with Simonds we're almost at pci and Simonds have been great so far. All the best with your build Re: Simonds Prague Modified SA 8Jul 05, 2017 9:18 pm Just thought I'd give an update on our progress so far, we have our land settlement this Friday coming and then next step is to meet with the site supervisor and find out when slab pour will happen! Anyone know what it's like pouring a slab in the rain as it looks like we won't be able to avoid it π And from when the slab goes down what's a rough time frame until the house is pretty much complete? Don't mind me I'm just very impatient and wish it was done now! Haha Re: Simonds Prague Modified SA 9Jul 06, 2017 10:46 pm Congrats on land settlement this week! Hope it all goes smoothly for you I've heard that it's better to pour a slab in the wet than it is in the middle of summer, because the slab won't dry out too much and potentially crack. I'm not sure where they draw the line though! Re: Simonds Prague Modified SA 10Jul 06, 2017 11:59 pm TheGirlie Congrats on land settlement this week! Hope it all goes smoothly for you I've heard that it's better to pour a slab in the wet than it is in the middle of summer, because the slab won't dry out too much and potentially crack. I'm not sure where they draw the line though! Thank you!! I have a feeling it'll be a bit heavy rain when it goes down unfortunately. I know spitting is fine but when it gets heavy it's a bit hard because slab doesn't get a chance to dry out etc. But I shall see what happens when we see our site supervisor! Re: Simonds Prague Modified SA 11Jul 07, 2017 8:32 am I think the biggest worry is when the water pools around the slab, I've just seen this on a new slab near my house, it looks like they have a fort! Will you have drainage in place? Time will soon tell π Re: Simonds Prague Modified SA 13Jul 07, 2017 10:03 am gemm01 Just thought I'd give an update on our progress so far, we have our land settlement this Friday coming and then next step is to meet with the site supervisor and find out when slab pour will happen! Haha Our first house was poured in the rain and it was perfectly fine And from there it took roughly 7 months, but it depends on your builder. Ours took a bit longer than it would've normally, as we had breaks over Christmas etc where it was tools down. - Kayla Kenny & Kayla - Adelaide Follow our build onΒ Instagram First build 2013Β - Finished and sold Second build 2018 - Underway Re: Simonds Prague Modified SA 14Jul 12, 2017 9:27 pm kaykens gemm01 Just thought I'd give an update on our progress so far, we have our land settlement this Friday coming and then next step is to meet with the site supervisor and find out when slab pour will happen!
