Building With CL - Baldivis

Hey Guys!
I have been reading other peoples threads for ages now, and since we have started getting the ball rolling with our new home build (woohoo)I figured I would finally start my own thread ::cheerleader::

We are building with ContentLiving in Baldivis, and so far its been great

We are just waiting for site works to start now. Hopefully won't be much longer. We are building the Rochester, and only made a few tweaks to the floor plan

Your plan looks great. Love the size of the kitchen. We are very close to signing with CL, so looking forward to following your build.

They have been great to deal with so far, hopefully will be the same when we start building, we will see:) have you started your own thread yet? Would love to follow yours as well:)

I was going to start a thread when we have a little bit more sorted out. We are doing a KDR, so it will take a bit longer with getting the demolition sorted.

Have a great service so far as well. I can't wait to get started.

Do you have any idea when your site works are starting?

I'm still nervous about our kitchen design - we walked into a show home once with a similar kitchen layout to your plans and I loved its functionality! Only after we had signed off our plans, did I think about that gorgeous kitchen we'd seen- but too late for changes!

I'm not sure of the kitchen dimensions I will have to look at our final plans and double check:) it's pretty big as we wanted a large kitchen. the kitchen were we are in now is decent size but we have no room it seems

We put in a bifold/serving window in the kitchen that opens to the alfresco to make it seem a lot bigger and open as well, but it's on the updated plans

there's still few minor changes that we made after they gave us this floor plan

And I love your kitchen as well! Is it a scullery off the side of yours or is it a pantry?

Thank you! I love the bifold window, we saw one at another display home and it was a brilliant. So glad we ended up getting it
I have photos of the colour selection I will post photos in a moment:)

The bifold window will add such a feature to your beautiful home an open it right up and also make you feel apart of the entertaining if you happen to be inside... My husband is a chef but yet I still end up having to host and make food for our guests

Will you be putting bar stools at the window on the other side or leaving as is with the open window?

So I have a photo of the final plans now, there's a couple changes from the first plan I posted

We decided to go with the window splash back, like the display

Our exterior colours, tile and garage colour
Os the same as this house, we picked them out and then saw this house in Dalkeith a few days later! My partner Is a painter and decorator so he will be doing all the painting Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅

Our main area floor tiling is a wood look tile, it's also going in our mud room/laundry (I'm American and it's common to have mud rooms which is like a glorified laundry basically) I believe they are about a meter long, Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅

Our kitchen is a polar white silk finish and then the pantry and wine rack is oyster linea in riven finish, with the white truffle essa stone, It's very similar to the display i have attached a photo of the display one Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅

Our bathroom has grey/marble type tiles 300 x 300 and white 300 x 600 wall tiles
with the white truffle stone top

I want a mud room! They sound awesome! Can I be American just for the custom of having a mud room?!

That's so handy your partner is a painter! All my husband can contribute is bribing the sales consultant with tasty food

Um yeah they can keep there bench top for that price!

You know how you love looking at everyone else selections I am the same but with everyone floor plans

I feel like such a creep stalking threads just to look at plans, but I love seeing the different way people interpret plans for their own needs. If only there was a thread where people posted plans only I'd never leave that thread

I was like that when we decided to build and I was looking at floor plans. It was intense, and then when we moved to colour selection I did the same thing lol

And I wish my partner could cook

he tries but he nearly kills me every time so I do the cooking... Poor thing, he really does try lol

I'm hoping all the colours and tiles look nice when it's completed I'm still a bit worried with the wood look tile against the wine rack laminate colour, but I think everything is pretty neutral and our carpets are white too. But I'm worried of going in and hating

and there's no one for me to blame but myself hahahah

I seriously love your kitchen - the highlight window and particularly the bifold window - great multifunctional addition!! Is there a reason why you kept your sink in that position as opposed to having it in the centre island? The reason I ask is because I've seen a display home from Dale Alcock that had the bifold window - the benchtop became both an inside and outside serving/drinks table, which was cleverly designed

Yours still looks awesome either way!

Our kitchen was originally going to have a scullery attached - the fridge was initially in there too but then over time it changed and is now a large pantry. I wasn't convinced that the space was large enough to be a scullery without it feeling really tight - so ended up with a nice big pantry

Your square kitchen is giving me 'buyers remorse' over my narrow kitchen! ::cry::

$6000 is daylight robbery!! How can that be justified????

Thank you! I wanted the sink on the center island but my partner didn't

so I compromised, since I got the pot drawers and wine rack hahah im hoping after we extend the bar from the window the sink won't be too much in the way,
The display home we had seen in Baldivis has the bifold window and the sink in the same position as ours and it wasnt TOO bad Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅
And I really like your kitchen layout and pantry! I wish we had a pantry like yours but we just have the cupboard/pantry thing. It works though lol

but I think we will get stone or wood and just add to it, I don't think it looks to bad.

Welcome ? I love your plan! And i love the idea of a mud room! Is definately something i wish we had included in our plan ? partly because im obsessed with american home building/renovation shows haha. All the best with your build, ill be watching eagerly ?
