Your curtains overall but especially in the theatre room look good. Do you mind sharing where you sourced it from and how much it cost? Re: Bristol (44sq) - Porter Davis Melbourne - New Build 146Apr 05, 2018 10:25 am we got all our curtains installed by impact blinds and curtains....they are very good and have a wide ranges of choices.they did the whole house for 12k.....we have chosen a front door which with clear glass...now we are wondering what we should be doing with it....lol it looks good when you choose but doesn't mean it is a practical choice lol Re: Bristol (44sq) - Porter Davis Melbourne - New Build 147Apr 05, 2018 3:53 pm Hi, we are planning to build Bristol too. Can u remember how much u paid to upgrade to colorblind roof tiles? We are tossing between Carlis lo e ane PD. Now but nervous after seeing the number of defects u had during frame stage. Hi Cathz, Colorbond was a promotional inclusion ‘valued’ at $7K, but that also included a Hebel upgrade as well, so can’t really say how much it would have cost us just for the Colorbond. Every builder has issues...it’s really a luck of the draw in terms of a capable site supervisor you get, so my advise would be to go with the builder you feel most comfortable with and with whom you are getting the best value... Thanks Sinbox. Currently Bristol base price is $406k. And the promotion does not have the upgrades u have. But like u have mentioned we love the design of the house. Were u able to have a look at the display when it was opened? I would love to see the same house but unfortunately our sales consultant said they do not have any other displays. I saw from ur earlier posts that it took time to start, but after the build started how long did they take to complete? That’s almost a 70K increase in less than 2 years...they are ripping people off... We were able to visit the Taylor’s lake display a couple Of years back. We have been in construction since April 2017...and yet awaiting handover.... Re: Bristol (44sq) - Porter Davis Melbourne - New Build 152Apr 06, 2018 8:18 am Cathz Omg! That's a long time. Yeh they seems to increase prices but currently offering $20k off. Yeah...it took them close to 10 months just to get to construction (from signing the Sales Quote)! Others who have been building the Bristol like Priya above have had better luck and have completed their Bristol in about 10 months...as I said before it all depends on your site supervisor. IMO, The entire building co-ordination team is useless. All but trouble is what I have had with them...I have had to escalate things to their CEO to get things moving at times... Re: Bristol (44sq) - Porter Davis Melbourne - New Build 153Apr 06, 2018 8:21 am Ahhha that's scary. Now thinking perhaps we should stick with Carlisle as it's not only u there are lots of other ppl who have said the same thing. Pity as we loved the Bristol and inclusions are better than Carlisle. Now thinking perhaps we should stick with Carlisle as it's not only u there are lots of other ppl who have said the same thing. Pity as we loved the Bristol and inclusions are better than Carlisle. We are building in inner Melbourne- Carlisle were not ready to build in our area for some lame reason. The only other project builder I could find to do a design similar to the Bristol was Arden homes. They backed out for a lame reason too... Re: Bristol (44sq) - Porter Davis Melbourne - New Build 155Apr 06, 2018 8:38 am Oh so kind of didn't have a choice. Understandable. I have heard nightmare stories about Arden too. As we have choice we should consider as I have not heard any timing issues with Carlisle. Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 12345 I ended up going with 'Andrew Belic Construction Co.' https://www.instagram.com/andrewbelicconstruction/ 2 59686 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17629 |
