I really love them. They look even better in person. First Home Owners and Builders - building Zara29 with Metricon in 2017. We got the invoice for fixing Stage earlier this week. Our site manager has also told us that he believes we will have handover in about 5 weeks. We are stoked! Tiles are done and painters have been in all week. Don't have any paint pics yet as Matt isn't going until next Tuesday to meet the site manager but have pics of tiles before grout in kitchen and all wet areas and also extrior pics. Scaffolding has come down so we can see our colours. I would love render but it's a 'later' thing. I actually really love the look of it. I've had my mum say she doesn't love it though. Hoping ours goes that quickly. Doesnt matter if youre mum doesnt like it; as long as you like it, thats all that matters. Re: First Home Builders - Metricon Zara 29 - Week 9 LOCK UP 68Oct 07, 2017 1:18 pm WOW! I actually really like how it looks without render! I can't lie, I'm really jealous of your progress. 14 weeks is nuts, quicker than some single storeys! Re: First Home Builders - Metricon Zara 29 - Week 11 FIXING 69Oct 07, 2017 4:33 pm I'm trying to change the topic part but it won't work. We are in Week 11 so if it is five weeks we are looking at a 16 week build. Can't lie - we are happy with that! allblaqk - I love the house as well I have to say! It looks completely different from anything currently built in our estate and I love that because as you would know up here every house seems to be very similar in facade! I'm sorry to hear your builders aren't moving along as quickly! When was your build start date? I have no idea why ours has gone so quickly??? Most Saturdays we have seen people working there and a few nights per week Matt would go past at 6pm and people would still be working. Our site managers (we have had 2) have been really great. Fingers crossed it continues. With the new approximate date for handover we feel confident we will be in before Christmas and have tentatively booked our pool to be installed on the 14th December. Post handover we still will have to do boundary fencing, turfing, pool fencing and extra concrete around the pool. It's a daunting task if I'm honest. Trying to work out the logistics with two kids and two dogs is hard as well! We were able to see inside today! Our slab went done 26th of May. If you want to change your title, I've been changing the title of my first post and that seems to work Re: First Home Builders - Metricon Zara 29 - Week 11 FIXING 71Oct 10, 2017 7:41 pm Meeting with site manager today. Everything is going so smoothly. Stairs were being painted. All fixings like toilet, bath etc are going in the end of this week and floors are being laid next week. He has said that they are looking at a practical completion stage of 23rd October!!!!! We are so shocked. He said then handover will be about the 13th November. Possibly earlier depending on things that need to be fixed up. If that is the case we are looking at a 16 week build! Have added some updated pics. I love our stairs. We couldn't do timber stairs ($$$$$) and I saw some black stairs at a display home and loved them. Otherwise they would have been the same white used on our skirting boards. I am so happy with the look! Ours was 18 weeks for 36sq, they certainly work hard Love the stairs they look awesome. Will you hang a pendant in the stairwell void? Re: First Home Builders - Metricon Zara 29 - Wk 11 FIXING ST 75Oct 16, 2017 11:02 pm Thanks everyone! No floors yet, but the air con is in (ducted woo!) and the lights are in. Our exterior lights are also hooked up. Bath, mirrors, toilets, tap fittings etc, shower screens, built in robe sliders are also done. Rangehood is in and also our power points. I absolutely love the black power points. They look so great. Hoping floors are later this week. Site manager said that he would call us next week to arrange practical completion inspection. Tribe - we just got down lights but we want to put a pendant in down the track. Just couldn't fit it in the budget. So far everything is looking exactly how we wanted. The one issue we had was a laundry cupboard which was meant to be a broom cupboard. I also am not thrilled with the ensuite shower tiling. I would have paid extra to tile up to the roof in that area around the window but just didn't think about it at the time. We are going to look into doing that after handover but I am worried the batch of tiles will be off. They were so good with the kitchen and telling us that we could get extra tiles up and around the range hood so I was disappointed when I saw the ensuite shower. It does look lovely in person though. I may of missed it, but are you able to tell me your external brick colour? Thanks! Bricks were austral bricks - macadamia Their colour is really nice. Not too white and not too yellow! Crazy fast but awesome!! Love love your tiles and stairs look great Re: First Home Builders - Metricon Zara 29 - Wk 11 FIXING ST 79Oct 20, 2017 10:57 pm End of Week 13 and I seriously can’t believe how quickly they are smashing this out. We now have floors, carpet, towel rails, door handles. Also they have done a first clean up of the space and it looks fantastic. I’m so happy with my stairs and my carpet. I like the flooring but HATE the scotia beading. I didn’t even know what that was until after we had done contracts. On our flooring contract it says something about the need for it but we were never really explained what it was. It doesn’t show up so much in the pictures and once we have furniture you won’t see it but I just really don’t like the look of it. I think I would have paid more to be without it. Overall though that is one thing! I’m absolutely dying to get out of this small house and into that house where my family will not fall over the top of each other! I had too google what scotia beading is but yes I hate it too! something about the order of things being completed because our builder said they will try to ensure we dont have it? And looks like it will be true because our skirting boards are only done in rooms/walls with carpet and the ones with laminate don't have any. So whats left? It looks like you could move in now!
