Great to hear your getting access to your electrician, your bricks have been delivered too woo hoo that's fab. Still loving that surfmist roof Cheers Tribe7. I wish I was having bricks for a bit of character for the front but covenants required front has to be rendered along with render or bagging to all sides and rear of house. That's why I don't have a nice big portico with all the trimmings. Spent the money on the rendering. I'm definitely still loving all the Surfmist tho Re: Henry's Build on the Gold Coast 65May 03, 2017 10:12 pm charlibear What a lovely surprise!! Woohoo bricks!! Re: Henry's Build on the Gold Coast 66May 03, 2017 10:23 pm em-n-craig It's awesome to have surprises when you go to site Surprises are definitely awesome em-n-craig. now waiting for wrapping to be finished followed by windows or termite treatment followed by block laying. Re: Henry's Build on the Gold Coast 67May 03, 2017 10:30 pm shellu Hey Henry, just caught up on your build. Really like your kitchen selections. I've never seen a pendant light like that! I'm in love. Cheers shellu. The pendant is from Beacons. I had something similar in our old house and loved the practicality of the light when prepping food. I originally chose the Copper colour but I changed my mind. The joys of being a Libran. Re: Henry's Build on the Gold Coast 68May 04, 2017 4:49 pm HENRY Haha I never thought about it looking like a giant octopus but now that you mention it fleabee86 totally the first thing that popped into my head when I saw it Re: Henry's Build on the Gold Coast 69May 05, 2017 10:06 pm Henry's Build on the Gold Coast 71May 06, 2017 8:07 pm Since we are talking about front doors I still need to pick a stain for our front door. I originally thought a stain similar colour to the garage door but now I'm thinking either Charcoal or Black China. What's everyone's thoughts, any suggestions? I'm needing some help with this. The front door has grey tint as per picture. I think it would look fab in black. We are having a 1200 front door too. It was a must-have for me Henry's Build on the Gold Coast 74May 09, 2017 8:24 pm Thanks Bridgetwitch and ninnygray. I wasn't sure if it would work. I saw a house a black front door on Sunday and now I actually have a front door and front window in which helps to visualise it. Now to find out which stain product the builders use. Black China is a Feast Weston product and Ebony is a Timbergrain product.

I like your front door! I got told when I went for my colour selection that the front door had to be painted a light colour in order to get a warranty on it (as the sun will bounce off a light coloured door and it will last longer or something) but I reckon dark doors are nicer. Re: Henry's Build on the Gold Coast 77May 09, 2017 9:06 pm Henry it's looking great love the front door! Super jealous of it actually Re: Henry's Build on the Gold Coast 79May 09, 2017 9:24 pm Love your front door Henry, and the progress is great!
