Re: First Home :) Building with Dixon Homes 83Apr 29, 2017 8:50 am Tribe7 Wooo hooo to frames fleabee, stoked with that. Uhm what's up with your toe?? It's looking rather sore??? It is really sore I was driving to work on the highway & a whole heap of stuff fell off a tradies ute in front... he stopped but didn't get out so I tried to move what had landed in front of my car so we could at least keep going it was what I thought just styrofoam.... nope had sharp metal on each side and as I moved it the metal sliced the bottom of my 2 toes! Mind you I felt it but didn't think it was that bad.... until I got to work & had a thong full of blood off to Drs where they gave me 2 stitches in my big toe & a few butterfly ones to make sure it's all good! Lol I was complaining that I wanted to have the day off but that wasn't how I wanted it to go! And I'll never help move anything off the highway again unless I'm in fully enclosed shoes Re: First Home :) Building with Dixon Homes 84Apr 29, 2017 9:47 am Seems like it's been a week of idiots. Such crap luck for you, your doing the right thing moving stuff off the road but cut your toe . Must of been nasty to require some stitches. Ouch. Hope it heals up quickly for you. In regards to kids ages, yes I feel your pain I have a almost 9 year old boy too (more dramatic than my 11 year old girl) I have a 5, 3 and 2 year old as well. Make sure you wear closed toe shoes on your house site too, those framing screws are huge. Re: First Home :) Building with Dixon Homes 85Apr 29, 2017 11:52 am Re: First Home 😀 Building with Dixon Homes 86Apr 29, 2017 2:23 pm Wowsers. You'll be doing a walk through tonight or tomorrow if you can wait. Congrats Re: First Home :) Building with Dixon Homes 87Apr 29, 2017 4:23 pm HENRY Wowsers. You'll be doing a walk through tonight or tomorrow if you can wait. Congrats Thanks Henry We were lucky enough that we hadn't finished mowing before they left we got the chance to walk through our very first home! It's still a little surreal but definitely feeling more like it's happening now Re: First Home 😀 Building with Dixon Homes 88Apr 29, 2017 7:15 pm Guess who's not going to get much sleep tonight. And when you do, you'll be dreaming of your lovely new home. Re: First Home :) Building with Dixon Homes 89Apr 30, 2017 1:44 pm Tribe7 Seems like it's been a week of idiots. Holy smoke you must be stoked. Hehhehe love the boots, you given them a work out yet?? We are on a acre now so my kids run around like a pack of crazies. Huge change from 600m2. We have a really big sand pit here and it's honestly the most calming thing for them, I'm quite surprised at just how much they love it. Will be having a sand pit at the new house (at the rate I'm going I'll just go and build a sand pit on my block myself and be done with it ) Re: First Home 😀 Building with Dixon Homes 91May 03, 2017 4:23 pm Tribe7 Omg you got framed!!! We were so happy to drive around the corner and see the frame!!! I was like a little school girl that couldn't stop giggling Hoping the rest of the build is quick but I don't want to jinx myself Lol no I'll have to keep them for when I can actually put my foot into enclosed shoes gotta love work colleagues Re: First Home 😀 Building with Dixon Homes 92May 03, 2017 6:57 pm Hahhahahha yeap a shade sail over my sand pit and I'll be sorted . I bet I used to get so excited to see progress at my place I did many happy dances (to the complete horror of my kids ) You should be fine with your build progress, there is a lady who use to serve me on the deli at woolies Helensvale and she was building with Dixon at jimboomba and said her build was insanely fast. She was so wrapped with it too Uhm yeah that might help if you can actually put your poor toe in a boot. We just got the invoice for our frame today so I'm hoping that's it's not too much longer before they move on We have dates for the fascia, bath tub delivery and window deliveries as well and that's spread out next week! I've called the electrical company and they are going to call us when they get the dates that they will be in wiring up as hubby wants to run his own wires and connect up more lights etc after hand over. So hoping it keeps going smoothly! Keeping everything crossed 🤞 When I was talking to my SS before the slab went down he was saying that he had 16 in the estate alone & that's not even with the new Dixon that's started in our street after us or the other one on the adjoining street! Lots of work for them here ATM Re: First Home :) Building with Dixon Homes 94May 03, 2017 9:04 pm Wow you are framed!! Awesome!!! Not so awesome about the invoice though Bring on facia and gutter GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: First Home 😀 Building with Dixon Homes 95May 03, 2017 9:04 pm So leaky pipe will apparently be fixed by council some time this week! Let's see how that goes We've had the frame invoice come in today so I have sent that off to our mortgage broker to send on to the bank yayyy & there's more money to be paying off the mortgage at the same time! We have some more dates for when deliveries will be made but they seem to change quite frequently! Just like them adding the frame will be delivered than taking it off altogether and than the frame was delivered on that day and yes I may have been stalking my own block to see if it was delivered Now I can't wait for more to happen Re: First Home :) Building with Dixon Homes 96May 04, 2017 10:20 pm Congrats on your progress, fleabee! So much has happened in the week we've been gone looks like!! Sorry about your toe.. I thought that stuff only fell off utes on dashcam videos! (haha) but really sorry about that.
