Re: First Home :) Building with Dixon Homes 263May 31, 2017 5:59 pm Looking fantastic. Those things hanging from the roof are roof batterns. They are there to support the roof sheets until the glue drys. They will romove them when they come back tomorrow to plaster Re: First Home π Building with Dixon Homes 265May 31, 2017 8:05 pm bribiebell Looking fantastic. Apparently cornice will be done tomorrow hoping they don't lock it up too quickly as hubby isn't home till really late tomorrow, but at the same time I know nothing will get stolen when they close it up. Re: First Home π Building with Dixon Homes 271Jun 01, 2017 10:20 pm Look at your build go!!!! You will be in before you know it. Do you have goop on your windows fleabee? We do and now that we are locked out we can't see a thing. We were lucky that the house was open when we took the kitchen pics yesterday. I don't like being locked out. First Home π Building with Dixon Homes 272Jun 01, 2017 10:38 pm Bahahhaha at the speed your tradies are pumping out the work they deserve a drink . Hell no that's not paranoid that's sensible, there is no way in hell I'll walk through our house in the dark, truth be told I'm a giant frilly sook and won't even go up the back of our block in the dark with a torch to put the rubbish in the wheelie bin . We found a red belly black snake 2 weeks ago so that's my excuse, nothing to do with the fact I'm scared of the dark . Mr T is on permanent rubbish duty Wow that's awesome the cornice is getting done tomorrow, fingers crossed your hubby gets to see it and the locks aren't on. There is one window that does but it's only the small one in the garage. I'm hoping they don't do anything to the others so I can try and have a look through. Mind you at the moment there are a couple of windows that are left a jar each time I've been in. Hoping to be able to slide one open if need be when it goes to lock up that is Re: First Home π Building with Dixon Homes 274Jun 02, 2017 5:51 am Tribe7 Bahahhaha at the speed your tradies are pumping out the work they deserve a drink . It's starts the feel super real when the plaster is up doesn't it? Haha I had to laugh as I always felt like someone was going to jump out of me walking in my house at day or night haha I thought how easy would it be for someone to just go sleep in there π³ We have only just been officially locked out now π As we kept leaving a window open a little and now the screens are on lol Oooo I went to James lane the other day and omg so many things I wanted, especially their dining tables! Pity all I can afford ATM is a can of baked beans π³π Re: First Home π Building with Dixon Homes 278Jun 03, 2017 3:39 pm Ladybugs2 Wow bricks and plaster! Looking amazing! Pity all I can afford ATM is a can of baked beans It does feel so real now! Also makes the space feel totally different. At slab I was like **** it's too small but now I look at it with the plasterboard up and think yep it's the right size Lol I seriously thought someone was going to jump out at me only walking through of a day time now. I totally know what you mean we will be doing interest free finance for our lounges and fridge that we need but that also may not be till the end of the year so we are in and settled. BUT, I still want to go and have a look at James Lane Re: First Home :) Building with Dixon Homes 279Jun 06, 2017 12:04 am It's great James Lane will be relatively close for you guys. Not so much for us, though they already know I am coming from far away - the sales lady seemed to think it was doable to have deliveries up and over the hills for us. Or we might cart it up ourselves. We were really keen on the nice electric looooonnnng L-shaped modular lounge for our media room. (was at the back corner of the shop when we went last) This after our son had bed tested every bed, and sat in and opened and closed every lounge. Some really nice tables as well, though I think we will end up getting something more simplistic from IKEA for dining + alfresco. (Good thing it's only next door!) Don't see any reason to have a wooden table on top of our already wood-look vinyl... yet.
