We are in mid stages of our tender and will be setting up an appointment for Colour Selection in the coming weeks. Re: Fowler Homes Moroccan with seabreeze fascade 3Apr 10, 2017 7:49 pm kira hi there, we are going to be building the moroccan with the seafreeze fascade, still in the early stages of tender, just wanted to know what advise and timeframe we should be bracing ourselves for. Thanks Hi Kira, we are building a 34 sq Paris with fowler. expect at least 10 to 12 months for your build if not more... fowler don't build quickly. We started a fairly basic/ standard build in May 2016 and at this stage we won't be finished until May 2017 if we are lucky . Our admin time was about 7 months, biggest hold up there was council - 3 months. If you can go through CDC - it should be much quicker than council. Negotiate your liquidated damages - $20 a day is not suffice - especially when you are already 5 months over contract completion date like we are. My advice at this stage would be don't build with them.I'm really not happy with the customer service, quality, communication and particularly the time it has taken to build. But if you are ok with a lengthy build, then they are ok value. Shop around as much as you can and take up as many free tenders you can is my advice that way you have got fall backs in case something goes wrong with one tender. Re: Fowler Homes Moroccan with seabreeze fascade 4Apr 13, 2017 7:41 pm Appreciate the feedback, we have been going backwards and forwards for our final plans, so many stuff ups at this point, main issue is we really do like the seabreeze facade We started back in September last year and stlll waiting for our final plans....Was it at least exciting when you started doing the appointments ? We have no idea when we can move out as we are doing a knock down rebuild, we are also building a pool so our current place still needs to be demolished then the pool shell is built (which takes 3 weeks for the concrete to cure) and then the slab can be laid.... the problem is apparently we need to be vacant 4 weeks prior to knock down so gas, water and electricity can be disconnected properly...timing is really annoying us !! I'm really keen in getting the little things done in our place like the led light switches, we are getting the honeycomb doors (internal doors which fowler have at the kellyville showroom and i want to see what the costs are for the black glass (frameless shower screens),,,,,,,More than happy to bounce off ideas with you guys !!! Re: Fowler Homes Moroccan with seabreeze fascade 6Jul 07, 2020 10:46 pm Hi Peter, I can honestly say we are both very happy with the final product...It did take us a fair bit of time but what really helped with the entire project was the after service care provided by the company. We moved into our place in April 2019, yes there were a few issues like all new builds would have but everything was fixed, no questions ask....If you can stretch the budget i would seriously recommend doing the void in the family room as this makes the house (in my opinion)....Here are a few photos Take care shaun Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Fowler Homes Moroccan with seabreeze fascade 7Jul 08, 2020 1:47 pm kira Hi Peter, I can honestly say we are both very happy with the final product...It did take us a fair bit of time but what really helped with the entire project was the after service care provided by the company. The inside looks equally stunning, you must be really happy living there after the construction process. I'll be looking to build either the Havana or new Brooklyn with the Seabreeze facade, but with more brickface exposed. I'm going through the tender process with Fowler at the moment, anything you think I should focus that might be easy to miss? Were aspects like your pool, fireplace/plastering, facade materials, etc covered within the tender and you had to decide that up front or was that later added? Also what did you get done yourself outside of Fowler was it anything, for example your fence looks great did Fowler do it? Thanks so much! Re: Fowler Homes Moroccan with seabreeze fascade 8Jul 08, 2020 5:36 pm Where do you want me to begin The concrete pool shell was formed and set as soon as we knocked down our original house (this was done outside of fowler), we had fowler do the plastering of the fireplace (however the actual fireplace was bought outside of fowler) yet they allowed us to install (before plastering was done). We did have an issue with the plaster (even though it was fireproof boarding) the thickness wasnt right so we started to get cracking (from the corners of the fireplace), this wasnt a fowler issue but we were always going to tile the fireplace at some point.....We upgraded our bricks as we didnt want to have the same old rendering style home (mainly due to ongoing maintenance) and the pilars at the front of the house were also tiled (outside of fowler). All the landscaping (including the front brick fence) was done outside of fowler (as well as the side concreting down to the pool area)....ALL blinds, floor coverings (on the steps) and carpet (for upstairs) was also done outside of fowler (at the time we didnt like any of their packages) but i believe they have new suppliers now and the products are suppose to be lovely. Within the home we removed ALL handles from kitchen, butlers pantry and bathrooms (all finger pulls) which has been great. In regards to the tender there is so much information there i can't tell you what to look for or what not to look for...at the end of the day you have to trust the process and the builders and from our perspective we felt that using them. I know there will be stories from people who have used them and say they will never use them again etc....but you will get that with EVERY building company, some will have happy customers and unhappy customers. The one thing that helped me with this process was to remember you are 1 customer out of 300 (for example), so if things are delayed or issues just know you aren't the only one....if you wanted to get a designated builder (whereby they are working only on your job) you will pay 3 times the price..... I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 105599 Anyone built with Fowler Homes? Feedback? Especially any things concerning or negatives? Have heard some horror… 0 9318 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74716 |
