Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Fowler Homes Moroccan with seabreeze fascade 7Jul 08, 2020 1:47 pm kira Hi Peter, I can honestly say we are both very happy with the final product...It did take us a fair bit of time but what really helped with the entire project was the after service care provided by the company. We moved into our place in April 2019, yes there were a few issues like all new builds would have but everything was fixed, no questions ask....If you can stretch the budget i would seriously recommend doing the void in the family room as this makes the house (in my opinion)....Here are a few photos Take care shaun Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thanks for the info kira , your home looks amazing! The inside looks equally stunning, you must be really happy living there after the construction process. I'll be looking to build either the Havana or new Brooklyn with the Seabreeze facade, but with more brickface exposed. I'm going through the tender process with Fowler at the moment, anything you think I should focus that might be easy to miss? Were aspects like your pool, fireplace/plastering, facade materials, etc covered within the tender and you had to decide that up front or was that later added? Also what did you get done yourself outside of Fowler was it anything, for example your fence looks great did Fowler do it? Thanks so much! Re: Fowler Homes Moroccan with seabreeze fascade 8Jul 08, 2020 5:36 pm Where do you want me to begin The concrete pool shell was formed and set as soon as we knocked down our original house (this was done outside of fowler), we had fowler do the plastering of the fireplace (however the actual fireplace was bought outside of fowler) yet they allowed us to install (before plastering was done). We did have an issue with the plaster (even though it was fireproof boarding) the thickness wasnt right so we started to get cracking (from the corners of the fireplace), this wasnt a fowler issue but we were always going to tile the fireplace at some point.....We upgraded our bricks as we didnt want to have the same old rendering style home (mainly due to ongoing maintenance) and the pilars at the front of the house were also tiled (outside of fowler). All the landscaping (including the front brick fence) was done outside of fowler (as well as the side concreting down to the pool area)....ALL blinds, floor coverings (on the steps) and carpet (for upstairs) was also done outside of fowler (at the time we didnt like any of their packages) but i believe they have new suppliers now and the products are suppose to be lovely. Within the home we removed ALL handles from kitchen, butlers pantry and bathrooms (all finger pulls) which has been great. In regards to the tender there is so much information there i can't tell you what to look for or what not to look for...at the end of the day you have to trust the process and the builders and from our perspective we felt that using them. I know there will be stories from people who have used them and say they will never use them again etc....but you will get that with EVERY building company, some will have happy customers and unhappy customers. The one thing that helped me with this process was to remember you are 1 customer out of 300 (for example), so if things are delayed or issues just know you aren't the only one....if you wanted to get a designated builder (whereby they are working only on your job) you will pay 3 times the price..... I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 105129 Anyone built with Fowler Homes? Feedback? Especially any things concerning or negatives? Have heard some horror… 0 9221 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74219 |
