Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 06, 2017 8:15 pm So here is the timeline with Carlisle Homes which has killed all the excitement for our first home build. Contract signed: 13th Jan 2017 Official Construction Start Date: 17th Feb 2017 Slab pour: 9th March 2017 Frame: Awaiting Framer to be assigned (Entered into 4th week of delay with Carlise advising they cant advise how long the delay is for.) Easter is around the corner and tradies may go on leave putting us well into the month of May. I will update if any progress is made. Its such a shame Carlise is unable to look at their Framers schedule and advise me where we are on the list.Shouldn't be this hard. They keep on telling me there is a shortage of framers and cant give me an estimated delay time. Really disappointed with Carlisle Homes. Re: Frustration with Carlisle Homes 3Apr 07, 2017 12:51 pm Don't panic. Early days yet. My build... contract signed March 2016 (land already titled), build commenced 1st of October, expected move in sometime in May, still waiting for an official completion date. There's not much you can do but wait until they go outside the contract. Unfortunately for me it took them 8 months to even begin building due to an issue with domestic building insurance and a delay in getting estate approval. No idea why they could go from permits to fixing stage in 11 weeks before Christmas, but since returning to work mid Jan they have done little work in the last 2 months In December they told me move in would be early Feb/March.. now might be May. Hang in there. Re: Frustration with Carlisle Homes 4Apr 08, 2017 9:56 am Siteri you have every right to feel disappointed A single storey House shouldn't take 12+ months to build? Shifting the blame to shortage of Trades is poor form, the bottom line is, don't take on work you can't complete During the Perth boom if you couldn't get good trades at a fair rate... then we did the work ourselves.
