Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Pre-construction 322Apr 08, 2018 8:23 pm blackcat20 Went out to the block today and discovered the builder of the house opposite has dumped all their concrete on our block. One metre to the left and it wouldn’t have been our problem... spoke to the owner who is going to speak with the builder, as will my husband. Too close now to let this get in our way. Grrrrr hate when that happens. The fence people did it too us too. They built all the fencing on both sides. And dumped all the left over concrete on our land. Hubby had to break it with a hand pick and a hammer. Was a big headache. But we weren’t going to pay thousands to move it. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Pre-construction 323Apr 09, 2018 2:58 pm Husband has spoken to the offending builder who is getting the site supervisor to call. Havent heard anything further, but have discovered we can report it to the EPA if required. He was also given the details of the concrete company but not sure he spoke to them. Final countdown now to construction, just waiting on the build permit and two variations (obscuring of windows and deletion of original cooling uni ). Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Pre-construction 324Apr 11, 2018 3:55 pm Site supervisor has agreed to look at it and get it removed "if it was them". It certainly wasnt anyone else as there is no one else at slab stage anywhere near us, plus the tyre tracks are pretty obvious. Realised last night that our block would have been used as we're the only other ones with taps...so we'll be swapping it to a locable tap this weekend. Fingers crossed for permit tomorrow! Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Pre-construction 326Apr 12, 2018 1:07 pm Tribe7 How is the concrete saga going? Any news on your permit? No update on concrete since yesterday arvo. Will go down on Saturday and see whats happening, and hopefully swap in a lockable tap to prevent further issues. No news on the permit either. I'm getting rather resigned to nothing every happening when they say it will. I haven't asked about it with Metricon yet, but I'm not taking it for granted that they are included..... so many of the features shown in the image of our chosen facade turned out to be upgrades, and I bet eaves will be one of the upgrades! Its an upgrade. Our estate requires them on the front but we wanted them all around. Save Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Pre-construction 330Apr 12, 2018 6:39 pm Final plans look great black cat . Gosh I hope your permit comes through it’s so painful waiting. That’s a good idea about your tap too, you do not want people helping themselves to your water. Could do with some good news for a change. Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Pre-construction 334Apr 13, 2018 12:31 am Tribe7 Final plans look great black cat . We reckon someone filled their pool from our tap after demo, as we had a quarter with an average usage of several thousand litres of water per day. And the meter wasn't connected to a tap, just a 26mm (?) threaded outlet... Had to pay it, as it was our word vs the water company... People are so crap! I noticed our usage increased between our visits, which I assume was the idiots washing out their concrete truck. Happy Friday 13th! Fingers crossed your build starts soon so they can all go away and leave you tap alone Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Pre-construction 338Apr 13, 2018 8:34 am Tribe7 Ooohhhhhwwwwwe that’s awesome news blackcat what’s next? Certificate of commencement? I have no idea! I know we still have two variations that need to move through the system (they can only do one at a time apparently ), but contract says they have three weeks to start from now. Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Pre-construction 340Apr 13, 2018 9:10 am Me too. Its cancelling a air con unit and adding obscuring to two windows, so I would hope that doesnt slow them down getting started. Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 35922 Ideally you would engage a landscaper to give you some insight what they may need in the space to make your vision come to life… 1 14151 I ended up going with 'Andrew Belic Construction Co.' https://www.instagram.com/andrewbelicconstruction/ 2 60106 |
