We haven't done anything at our study area yet. Love to have like yours! Not sure any carpenter will be willing to do a small job.
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Landscaping 1403Oct 19, 2019 1:05 pm I can't remember if I posted our cellar fitout. We measured up the space under the stairs and got the racking custom made. It fits almost 400 bottles. We had the painter back through to fix all the nail pops in the ceiling. I've since found a couple more but now I know how to fix them myself. Can I ask how much did that cost you? Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Landscaping 1405Dec 17, 2019 8:19 am Renman That looks awesome dude. Can I ask how much did that cost you? Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Landscaping 1406Dec 17, 2019 8:29 am We've been finishing off a few of the last things recently. I finally have ceiling fans in the bedrooms for summer. I also picked up some bargain Batten fix lights for around the house. $13 instead of $50. Used them for living rooms, hall ways, laundry etc. Anywhere we didn't have a statement light, and the white/timber look is in keeping with the rest of the house. Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Landscaping 1410Mar 30, 2020 8:47 pm It's taken 16 months but I finally have the remotes and wall panel for our garage door Since January 6 I'd sent three emails and made a number of calls, and finally someone got in touch with me two weeks ago. Remotes were sorted within days, and now I've got them coming back this week to sort out the floor and downpipe. Of course I've just returned to work from having a baby and everything is a bit crazy with coronavirus, but hey, it's getting dealt with at last. Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Landscaping 1411Mar 31, 2020 10:30 am And as a nice little insult, we have mice in our pot drawer in the kitchen. They havent sealed between the plaster and the benchtop behind the stove, leaving a nice little gap for them to get in, then they go through to the drawer via the hole for the gas pipe We've plugged the holes so hopefully thats the end of that. We live on old farmland so mice are a bit of a given around here. My dog has caught most of them, we have one left as far as we can tell. Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Landscaping 1412Apr 03, 2020 1:16 pm Had M back through today to sort our ongoing issues and I’m pleased that he suggested fixing addition issues, including stuff that got knocked back at service. The disconnected down pipe is gong to be reconnected. The loose step at the top of my stairs is going to be fixed; he happened to step on it and was not impressed with it. More nail pops to be fixed. Ensuite shower to be fully regrouted, and with epoxy this time. The grout is cracking and crumbling, so he wants to preemptively fix it before we get leaks. Stairway wall and ceiling of hall and entrance to be repainted. There are odd squares visible which the office deemed ‘to standard’ but the guy who came out spotted them and wants it fixed. Ensuite floor is staying as is for now. It’s a loose joist but would require a lot of effort to stabilise. Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Landscaping 1417Apr 13, 2020 7:01 pm Busy weekend of painting. All our nail pops were patched Saturday and a couple of walls repainted. Our upstairs ceilings were all painted today, and the downstairs ones will be done later this week. We have had floor regrouted in powder room and hall (due to toilet leak and water damage) and a tile replaced in shower. Both jobs got the grout colour wrong. Both have had to come back and redo it as we wouldn’t accept it. Make sure you are happy with colour matches!! We are so sick of trades coming to fix issues and doing a sub standard job.
