M likes to draw things out until you become desperate for progress Metricon Liberty 45, Ryde NSW http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=82846 That’s weird. We never had that problem with them so far. And hopefully they still keep it up with maintenance. So far so good. Except one thing that we are wondering how they will handle it. Is the carpet. After it was pulled up. The person that put it back butchered it. Now the join looks terrible. Carpet court said they didn’t do it. They think m has. But m said they didn’t do it. Which makes sense cos my ss did say he was going to get them out to lift it up and install it back. So let’s see what happens now. As our carpet is very expensive. And the whole top floor from our room to the hallway might need replacing. Let’s see how this go. Cos so far they have been really good with everything. Even big stuff that they got wrong during the build. That wasn’t my ss fault. But actual admin. Let the games begin 🤨 viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Home Straight 769Aug 06, 2018 6:47 am Renman Escalate it or threaten them to Fair Trade or VCAT and see if they respond to your demands. I would hope it wouldn't come to that. Both of our supervisors are really good and both have said to let them know if we spot anything that isn't right so it can fixed. Was awake half the night worrying about it Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Home Straight 770Aug 06, 2018 8:10 am Husband has spoken to the SS already this morning. He says the plans arent clear (as the front door surround is never shown) but can understand it isnt what we wanted given we paid extra to have brick infill, and is looking into why it happened and how it can be fixed. Fingers crossed. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Every house I've looked at that has a rendered portico has exposed brick around the door, and having only one side rendered looks terrible so I'm desperate to see it gone. Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Home Straight 771Aug 06, 2018 9:10 am To be honest, when you show that image, I don't mind it... but it's your home, not mine. We didn't render our portico either. Primarily to save a few $$'s, but because we felt the Chateau facade looks better without render on the lower level. What colour is your render? We had to render due to estate requirements for multiple textures/colours, and I wanted the look of the grey at the front anyway, just not around the door. The colour is Timeless grey. I loath it, the more I think about it the more upset about it I am. I'd go out there and chip it off myself if I had to right now. Certainly wouldnt have wasted my money upgrading to brick around the door only to have them render over it. I'm also worried about the longevity of the render on the step, I'd be concerned that it would be damaged and chip away over time whereas brick wouldnt. Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Home Straight 773Aug 06, 2018 10:59 am What's the your plans look like for the front view? Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Home Straight 774Aug 06, 2018 11:03 am Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Home Straight 775Aug 06, 2018 11:09 am Damn!! That is a doozey. Feel bad for all parties involved. Hope it all gets sorted out for you in a timely manner. But don't stress too much, the whole brick front of my house was taken down and restarted as well due the different brick batch not being the same size. Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Home Straight 776Aug 06, 2018 11:20 am dulie Damn!! That is a doozey. Feel bad for all parties involved. Hope it all gets sorted out for you in a timely manner. But don't stress too much, the whole brick front of my house was taken down and restarted as well due the different brick batch not being the same size. That's good to know that it can be rebricked then if required. At least the SS has acknowledged that we did not intend for it to be rendered. Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Home Straight 777Aug 06, 2018 12:27 pm They're saying it has to be rendered as the right outer is and it must continue around the corner the alternative is a visible metal corner which I'd honestly prefer. Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Home Straight 778Aug 06, 2018 12:35 pm But it actually says on your plans brick pier to portico? So why didn’t they do it? It’s very clear? Also they need to abide by it? What’s their reasoning? They should have known this before hand if it was a problem. And not note it down being brick pier then? viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Metricon Winchester 28- Home Straight 779Aug 06, 2018 12:43 pm Doulton777 But it actually says on your plans brick pier to portico? And not note it down being brick pier then? viewtopic.php?t=86597 They're essentially saying where it comes to the front from the right side there would have to be a metal corner strip over the corner. I'm ok with that being visible but SS reckons I wouldn't be. But I hate the render around the front door so a metal strip is nothing. And not note it down being brick pier then? viewtopic.php?t=86597 Yep if we'd known we'd have never have added render. I think I'm going to have to escalate as the SS is adamant it has to be like that. (It is a brick pier, they're talking about the side of the house ) They're essentially saying where it comes to the front from the right side there would have to be a metal corner strip over the corner. I'm ok with that being visible but SS reckons I wouldn't be. But I hate the render around the front door so a metal strip is nothing. My question is , can it really be fixed without removing all the rendered bricks around the door and then also the bricks on the 1st floor above it?
