Still have an IKEA and Bunnings run to do though. We already have it all too, but have been in our current house 15 yrs next month, so looking for lots of new stuff! Lots of paint touch ups to do. Expansion joint on the portico looked terrible so glad they've noted that. Nice to see it with the garage door closed. Do you mind to share how M resolve that later? Thanks in advance! Re: Metricon Winchester 28- One week to go! 945Sep 15, 2018 9:36 am PCI done and dusted yesterday. Lots of paint touch ups required. Both our shower screens have scratches so need to be replaced as does our splashback window. Biggest issue is a mark on the ensuite bench that appears to be under the surface. Likely going to mean the whole thing will need to be pulled apart and may delay settlement. And annoyingly out SS would have been happy to redo the portico bricks the way I wanted at no cost but it's a bit late now Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Metricon Winchester 28- One week to go! 946Sep 15, 2018 9:42 am Congrats blackcat, looking good, Its super annoying that they cannot take accountability prior to installation to ensure these things which would eventually avoid re-work and save time and hassle for everyone. Do u have a pic?...we are supposed to have ours in 2 weeks....but at a walkthrough I noticed they had the wrong stacker door....its confirmed it's a 100 series door instead of 300 series so the door n frame will need to be pulled out. Also our kitchen splashback is installed in correctly so that too needs to be pulled out n redone. Our portico which was water laden needs to be replastered. I want all these fixed before we take handover. Re: Metricon Winchester 28- One week to go! 956Sep 15, 2018 3:23 pm Hi blackcat20, I am just curious. Was it necessary for you to bring these faults (paint, glass, etc) to the attention of the builder or did they tell you the faults were there and you then verified them? It just sort of bugs me that so many people report significant issues at their PCI and if I did not know any better it is almost as if the builders are just hoping clients will miss them. Re: Metricon Winchester 28- One week to go! 958Sep 15, 2018 9:41 pm Thanks. I just find it incredibly disappointing in general that damage such as this occurs so frequently. In a slightly less imperfect world than the present one, I would like to think that tradies and others would treat the homes they are working in the same way they would like other tradies to treat their own homes. Perhaps one reason issues such as these are left until the pre-handover is because if they fixed them beforehand, they'd just have to come back a second time to fix more problems! On my daily walk today I saw broken windows on a half finished home. But they clearly weren't broken from the outside. The shatter points corresponded to where tradie's tools had taken a swing at them from the inside! Seems like you were lucky with site supervisor on your build My ss gave us the sticky tape to go around and put it on all the defects so it can get fixed . He said go around and if you see anything put the tape on it. He was was very opened to having the inspector check it out. My private inspector was impressed with his workmanship. He was even surprised it was a Metricon home. Every time we got the inspectors report there wasn’t many faults. PCI only had about 13 minor faults. Nothing major. It didn’t delay us any further. Ss even was so good with getting things done after handover. I told Metricon he was an asset to them. When they took my feedback. Hmmm, I have checked your past posts and it seems that you are in NSW, not WA as I had thought. It pays to show your State in your avatar.
