Browse Forums Building A New House Re: New build with Redink Madora Bay 141Nov 11, 2017 10:34 pm We are still plodding through the tiling process. Should hopefully be finished by Wednesday. Then electrical and plumbing final fixes, painter will be back, sliding robe doors, paving, insulation, flyscreens and air con. I think that will be all. Have a meeting with our SS on Monday so will see whether he has a PCI date for us. That beach is gorgeous. Lucky you! I don’t have wardrobe doors or fly screens if that helps @Madora Dreamer Re: New build with Redink Madora Bay 143Nov 11, 2017 10:43 pm I am trying to be very philosophical and zen about it all. It will happen and then we will be in our new house. But inside I am seething over how long it is all taking! I think I need to learn to meditate! The closer it gets the more impatient I get though! And I am struggling with trying to work out timetables for handover, solar panel installation, pool installation, internal painting, blinds, security screens etc. It is difficult when I don't actually know when we will get keys. And in-between moving into the new house I also have to coordinate the cleaning of the rental we are in. Too many things to do, not enough time or helping hands! It was supposed to take 3 months and took less that 8 weeks. @Madora Dreamer Re: New build with Redink Madora Bay 152Nov 13, 2017 7:25 pm LOL! I have shower screen x1, mirrors, carpets, fly screens, door painting, wardrobe sliding doors, aircon, appliances, water heater, insulation, paving, NBN, electrical and plumbing final fixes to do. And probably some other stuff that I've forgotten/don't know about! Re: New build with Redink Madora Bay 153Nov 13, 2017 7:29 pm Mrsxtro01 LOL! It will be interesting to see when we both finish up. I reckon they will push yours through and get it done before Christmas. @Madora Dreamer Re: New build with Redink Madora Bay 156Nov 14, 2017 11:43 pm ct@ri Madora Dreamer In the contract the slab should be laid within 45 working days from prestart so counting down! Hi Madora Dreamer, it's good to see you're getting excited, and I hope our Team are looking after you. I just wanted to clarify the 45 working days you mentioned above. The Contract normally requires Redink to commence works within 45 days of the latest of a number of dates. These include -
I know the team will be working to get your home under construction as soon as possible (we both benefit from this), and 45 working days from your Prestart meeting is often achievable, but not always. For example, some councils can take 3 months to complete a planning approval, which would usually result in delays getting to site that we have no control over. I'm not sure the Contract requires (or suggests) a slab should be down within 45 days of the Prestart meeting, but I'm happy to be corrected on this. My understanding is it requires us to commence work (which normally means earthworks commence) within 45 days of all requirements being met, and all approvals being received. I look forward to following your journey, and helping out in any way I can (just ask ). Regards, Chris Hi CT Almost at the end of the build, by Xmas hopefully. My build has been smooth and enjoyable, so you have upheld your end of the deal @Madora Dreamer Re: New build with Redink Madora Bay 157Nov 14, 2017 11:51 pm So exciting! Glad to hear things have been going so well! So jealous! My slab was laid in April and its looking iffy if we'll be in my Xmas. We've been stalled for about 2 months now Good luck with the race to the end! Re: New build with Redink Madora Bay 158Nov 15, 2017 4:59 pm Got an update today. Still no date for PCI . My shower screens, aircon and mirrors all to be installed this week and the paving will be completed. Painting will continue for the next couple of weeks. Surely that must be it then! All plumbing, gas and electrical fit outs are completed. @Madora Dreamer Re: New build with Redink Madora Bay 159Nov 16, 2017 7:10 pm Quick photo update Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ paving finished Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ aircon in Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ front path finished Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ @Madora Dreamer Re: New build with Redink Madora Bay 160Nov 17, 2017 5:35 pm Looking really good!
