I would have went for a higher finished level but we were restricted by height of the weep holes. Didn’t want to cover them too much. Carpenter also scrapped back some of the ground. I under estimated amount of turf underlay needed and also the thickness of the actual roll of grass. No pic but before grass went down I scrapped some more dirt away from the edges and I grabbed a roll of that brickies plastic flashing from the rubbish pile of a near by building site and screwed a strip into the sides to stop the underlay/roots/water going under the deck. From memory the carpenter built the frame first, used 450mm centres, attached posts, leveled and then watered in the holes with quick set concrete. Not sure of exact order actually, I wasn’t watching closely.
