I think I have finally decided what I want for my kitchen and dining room - but should I wait until we've at least done colours?!? What do you guys think? You have just reminded me to ask if you made a decision about these other pendants? Still undecided about the pendants.... I may have scored another gumtree bargain for my dining room... if that works out then I will be looking for kitchen pendants to match it! Oh how I love lighting!!! - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 143Jun 02, 2017 10:51 am lp77 Liking your pendant where did you find it? Definitely exciting times. My SC said to not stress over the notes. Guess we will deal with it when it comes up... hopefully they will only need to be small retaining walls we can do ourselves! 🤞 - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Not sure why your SC said to not stress over the notes - sounds like they are saying... you don't have to deal with it now... but doesn't guarantee you won't have to deal with it later! (I usually reply with a - why shouldn't I stress about it if it's me who has to deal with it eventually?) Otherwise, building your own retaining wall - should be easy in theory - but a bit labour involved.. playing with rebar, reo, cement, blocks or rocks. Also you might.. might need council approval if it's too tall. Otherwise, it's always a balance between building it yourself at your own pace, or have 'builders' do it quicker and hopefully better quality than your effort. Personally, I love the idea of doing it myself if I could, but then it would take me eons to finish (a la Grand Designs). I already have lots of DIY landscaping plans being thought of... including a granite rock path... dug-out timber bench sitting area... water features... but if they happen? not sure... Sorry for the negative nelly talk. However, you do have some time to work it out. Either way, retaining walls tend to create a nice feature anyway, also a nice climbing wall for your little-y's. And a nice bollard against some crashing into your house!! Fingers crossed! Oops! forgot to end my rant to comment on your pendants. awesome pendants! Very classy and eye-catching. I have been painfully looking at pendants only to think our ceilings are really too low to have any nice effective pendants. And to think you got them at a bargain, the secret is safe! How are you going with the colour selections. Do we have any inspirational pics or actual pics of your selections so far? Just curious Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 154Jun 10, 2017 9:44 am I love that pendant & great idea for chair covers on eBay Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 155Jun 10, 2017 1:37 pm HENRY Nice lights and chair covers BW. How are you going with the colour selections. Do we have any inspirational pics or actual pics of your selections so far? Just curious Thanks Henry! I have samples chosen, but I keep changing my mind! It will depend on what I get to choose from at the colour studio... everything will be black, grey and white - that's all I'm sure of! Still trying to decide if I want an all black kitchen, or if I want to have a mix of grey and black. Can't wait for selections next Friday!!! - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 156Jun 10, 2017 11:06 pm Ohhh hello your going bold me too BW, I absolutely love black kitchens they are so elegant and understated. Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 157Jun 11, 2017 12:05 am Yep, always wanted a black kitchen!!! I'm a bit of a goth girl at heart... just hope our house doesn't end up being too dark! - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 159Jun 11, 2017 1:21 pm Tribe7 What main flooring are you thinking of doing? You can use a light floor and have everything else dark?? The bits of wooden furniture I have are dark, so was thinking of going dark timber laminate to match - something with a bit of chocolate brown/red to give some warmth to the grey walls. I'm hoping white skirting/architraves and ceilings will lighten things up, with some light coloured floor rugs and window coverings for contrast. I'm sure the colour consultant will probably have a fit when she sees all the dark choices I've made! But that's our style really! - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 160Jun 11, 2017 2:07 pm The only thing I would say to be careful of with going dark like that is to make sure you are getting your colour hues correct. If you want a dark brown/red floor and also want grey walls make sure you pick a grey that comes from a black primary colour, for example if you pick tranquil retreat grey, it comes from a brown (which is actually red) which is spanish eyes. A brown floor against a "grey wall" will actually make the grey wall look brownish red. If you pick a grey like soft metal it comes from a red and matched to a brown floor your walls will look purple. Your colour scheme will be beautiful and if you put the leg work in now it will all look amazing. Go to the paint counter at Bunnings at Oxenford and ask for Roz, tell her what your trying to do with dark colours and you dont want colour hues, she will get out the master dulux book and show you which paints will work she is amazing and how I learnt. I pick all my greys from black, anything in the SG6G line or SNH4 group. The last number of the group is the colour for example Guild Grey is my old render colour SG6G5 and the side walls where Water Worn SG6G3 I picked the colours from the same primary colour and the only difference is the shading. 5-3 its just the same colour getting lighter. I seriously love bold kitchens and dark colours so if the above helps Im stoked I really want to see you pull it off beautifully. Here is a website I use a lot too, it shows what I'm trying to explain about where colours come from. https://www.dulux.com.au/specifier/colour/colour-atlas Anybody know any good and reasonably priced Air conditioning contractors/companies that could install a ducted air conditioning system in the Central Coast NSW for a small… 0 3243 |
