This was one of a few last minute changes and I've been stressing about them ever since! Very relieved to see the windspray gutters with the surfmist faschia, I love the colours Re: Fairmont Homes Custom Build Myponga, SA 64Sep 09, 2017 10:34 pm Nice build going on will be keeping track of this one ! Re: Fairmont Homes Custom Build Myponga, SA 66Sep 20, 2017 1:39 pm I drove past this morning on the way to take the kids to school and brickies were on site!!! Woo-hoo!!! Two trades in one week We'll be heading down layer today to check out the progress Re: Fairmont Homes Custom Build Myponga, SA 68Sep 20, 2017 3:34 pm There are either not enough, or too many choices of pendant lights. Building a Fairmont Custom in Seaford Meadows Our Build Thread Re: Fairmont Homes Custom Build Myponga, SA 69Oct 05, 2017 1:47 pm Bricking finished yesterday - we are really happy the their work I'm still unconvinced about using two different bricks and the resulting join but I am in love with the colour of the muscat grey brick on the facade and we didn't want to use a dark brick for the whole house *sigh* But the fence line will meet the join, and we like to landscape using an outdoor rooms layout - so that will distract from it - hopefully! I can't remember if I mentioned that the plumber has been? The electrician was on site and finished first fit off last Friday and the airconditioning people have visited some time since then. The insulation went into the walls yesterday as the brickies were finishing up and they said that they will be back either today or tomorrow to finish the ceiling. So we got to walk through and get a real feel of the size of the rooms and the natural light in each. We drove past this morning and were ecstatic to see plasterers there!!! It is really moving at the moment We had our first phone update on monday letting us know that the kitchen is due by the end of this month Overall we are thrilled with the quality of work and the current pace. We emailed a couple of minor errors to Fairmont this week - a couple of misplaced powerpoints and the shower head which appears to be very much off centre - and these have apparently been passed on to our SM. I'm a big fan of gutters & faschia in contrast colors...gives a different zing to the house Swirling twirling in the home building pot Re: Fairmont Homes Custom Build Myponga, SA 77Oct 15, 2017 7:48 pm It feels like I haven't posted an update for ages! I've been home with the flu so today was my first day on site for a week. The plasterers smashed out the gyprock in one day and it has since all been flushed. It looks fantastic (all the photos are on the hubby's phone). Fairmont have already been out and fixed up the misplaced powerpoints and we forgot that we are having a cadet rail in the shower which is why the plumbing is off centre All of which was communicated very quickly. The skirting and arcs have been delivered and kitchen is booked in for next week! We went out last week (before the flu) and tidied up the site a little (the kids are collecting nails for pocket money!), did some weeding and moved a bit of soil. The kids spent all day riding their bikes with different friends that live near by and then we finished up the day with our first bbq at home out the back... in the mud! It was awesome! I can't wait to move down there!!! Re: Fairmont Homes Custom Build Myponga, SA 78Oct 15, 2017 9:03 pm Sounds like some good progress, looking forward to seeing your cabinetry.. When that goes in it really starts to look more like a home. Whats a cadet rail? aw that sounds like you had a lovely day! 😊 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34269 6 55346 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27716 |
