Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 602Feb 02, 2018 9:49 am Your paint will fit perfect! Just get the “cool” light bulbs as the warm ones thats in can throw a bit yellow. We have same paint inside as you and it was the most neutral white available. Not really beigh/cream/grey glow but light affects it. Its like an off white will see if i can get proper phots for you when its complete and dry Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 603Feb 02, 2018 10:02 am Paint is Taubmans Winter IceNH77
thanks for that. Like being able to adjust colour and brightness form my phone and even turn them on and off when not at home. Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 604Feb 02, 2018 10:06 am Urgh aircon ss said a panel of color bond is removed for the copper pipe and a few bricks for that and wires. Ours was also stolen and never replaced ss made call to do later not to have more issues with theft. Not too happy bout bricks being removed to do the ac electrical and pipe but cant do anything about it And yes we have exact same paint colour Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 605Feb 02, 2018 10:15 am just remember if you was doing aircon after handover a lot more than a single panel of roofing would have been lifted was main reason i spent extra to do it by builder - could have gotten an actron for 1500 cheaper after handover. i noticed in my wiring they have wired up for the hot water controller etc but not for the aircon controller in same location. so i guess thats all done afterwards. when i spoke with the aircon people they actually said they can defer final installation to after handover once i have my concreting done if i want to put it on ground instead of attached to wall. But i think wall mount is better - a little harder for bugs to crawl into it that way. Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 606Feb 02, 2018 10:17 am Ah ours is on ground i think, not sure as i think it cant be mounted on a paver?our opening for wires and pipe is same place as yours, dont want any copper pipe in outside wall, prefer it to be insie cause i dont want it stolen! Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 609Feb 06, 2018 10:54 am Probably 4 weeks till PCI with handover hoped for in mid march - hopefully before the long weekend. as best if i can move before the 16th March
Painting expected to occur in 2 weeks. all wet area tiling done they will relocate the power point that extends past the kitchen tiled area to a more convenient spot - other side of the phone connection. they will adjust the height of the external power points further so they are the same height and then replace the bricks. Pantry light still to be added. discussed the tiling and floors. last 2 tiles before doors are angled upwards slightly to prevent water running out door if floor wet Skirtings as discussed will be tacked on with a single coat of paint. i will be responsible for painting them the final coat myself after handover once my timber laminate floor has been installed. at least no quad this way Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I am happy with my tiling colors and like the big wall tiles - less grout to clean Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 610Feb 06, 2018 3:21 pm Love it all. Hope the next 4 weeks flies by and you can enjoy Easter in your new home Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 611Feb 06, 2018 3:43 pm hoping so but sceptical as to when it all gets there ideally i would want to have keys before March 14 or after April 4th in between those dates is not convenient - i actually dont mind if its just afterwards. When i saw SS on site this morning he said they are flat out at the moment and this afternoon i got a call from someone in their office to advise me my kitchen has been finished to which i replied - no kitchen bench and no tiling yet doesn't equate to finished IMO also other 2nd fix stuff is not yet done - ie skirtings and architraves I have wondered if it was someone about to send me my 2nd fix progress payment but obviously 2nd fix has not been completed. The only other times i have had this type of call has been when they was about to send out progress payments. They also gave me a 6 weeks to PCI and 8 weeks to handover timeline so ill go by that one to be conservative based on the rate of progress i have seen so far. Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 612Feb 09, 2018 1:16 pm well my kitchen bench and sink are in - picked up some of the offcuts and its bloody heavy put them in a pile with my bricks in case i decide to ask for it to be left on site at cleanup skirtings have been done - tacked on only as requested. Gas line installed and damaged internal garage door replaced. I got my 2nd fix invoice but will hold onto it till i check progress next wednesday - want to see kitchen tiled and cornices and architraves done first kitchen bench Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 616Feb 09, 2018 4:36 pm Nawsome They are moving along with your build Yes! @enthilza im thinking you are going supper wuick! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also noticed today that they ripped up the sidewalk when they did the gas line. will be watching to see that gets repaired before PCI/Handover (have been advised by a friend with building industry experience it should be as part of running the gas line) my question is haven't they heard of tunneling under sidewalks etc like every other utility does?
