We are still waiting was supposed to be monday then ss said today... so maybe tomorrow with the shower screens, rest of painting, garagedoor, and flooring (what ss said will be completed this week) Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 625Feb 14, 2018 9:41 pm Pre PCI/handover kitchen tiling, showerscreens, plumbing a couple of doors still to be hung and final electrical fix and appliances then painting i think due to the replaced gyprock a bunch of electrical and data points had to be adjusted and havent been reset yet Post handover Flooring, fencing, concreting, security screen doors blinds and remaining electrical work (tv antenna, data enclosure and light fixtures) currently lookign at the following for my light fixtures - i hate naked globes in main rooms and hallways https://www.beaconlighting.com.au/proje ... ass-1.html https://www.beaconlighting.com.au/asher ... black.html in Bedrooms, laundry, toilet etc - and even possibly the main rooms https://www.beaconlighting.com.au/opal- ... ite-1.html Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 628Feb 14, 2018 10:21 pm know what you mean about ball ones but soemthign cheap to hide the globes is all im after atm. the open fixtures like https://www.beaconlighting.com.au/astro ... ome-1.html are far worse though. have looked at the bunnings ones as well and will be looking at all options at that time i like the black and think would go well with my black blinds and probable black coffee table and tv cabinet yep and im hoping once painting started i get my PCI date also have my garage door to be done Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 630Feb 16, 2018 3:25 pm just told by someone going past my site today that my first coat paint is done - just half a garage to go and will be finished next week. no 2nd fix plumbing yet Electrical points not fixed yet and the misplaced kitchen PP not yet relocated Kitchen tiling still not done. apparently they took a bunch of photos but i have to wait till they get here to see them Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 631Feb 16, 2018 5:55 pm still only a single coat but liking the colour tiles will be white subway tiles and flooring spotted gum laminate timber with all blinds being black roller blinds have timber furniture thats similar to spotted gum but need a new tv unit - thinking black will look nice. the power point on the left is the offending PP that overlaps a tiled and untiled area - that has to be moved to the right so its on the other side of the phone port (which i am getting changed over to a data port - who uses phone ports nowadays. Edit prehandover inspection booked for 2 weeks time think i will book in an inspector to go through house with me might end up being a waste of money but at least i wont be saying whatif down the track biggest dillema when to book my flooring installation for hopefully get the keys that week baring issues and dont want to leave it till too late as wont be able to move in properly till flooring done Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 635Feb 20, 2018 12:17 pm Entilzha just the final coat of paint, kitchen tiling and last bits of electrical and plumbing work, along with my garage door and i'm just about finished Edit prehandover inspection booked for 2 weeks time think i will book in an inspector to go through house with me might end up being a waste of money but at least i wont be saying whatif down the track biggest dillema when to book my flooring installation for hopefully get the keys that week baring issues and dont want to leave it till too late as wont be able to move in properly till flooring done urgh feel your pain we have the same with the solar booking, cant book yet as not sure what will need to be fixed or how long they will take to do stuff... makes it hard, but great to have a pci date! Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 636Feb 20, 2018 12:23 pm have you seen who is doing your painting? we had an older guy .... we are still waiting for bits of cornises to be painted inside and cooktop then inside is done then just the outside with the second coat of paint on down pipes and meter boxes , bits of cornises above garage door and on alfresco, then garage door , gas meter, ac and copper piping, flyscreens, and the finishing off of the paving by tomorrow. plus the scotia bit that's missing on front porch, and the gap between alfresco door and the frame , and the alfresco door bowing in the middle... then the adjustments of slide doors/windows to make them flush and the house being cleaned... not sure when our valuation will be but bank on it hopefully befor our pci and not much fixing then we can get keys at pci... lol move in before our camp trip but we have time to play with if we are not happy till we get back, @enthilza the inspector is a good idea! Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 637Feb 20, 2018 12:28 pm no havent seen painters yet but my dad said there was 3 of them on site last friday when we went up their. having time to play with is important - allows you to hold that cheque a bit longer if required. I am hoping no major issues and bank has cheque ready the previous friday so i can collect keys at my Inspection. otherwise a trip into their office later that week to do handover. happy to rectify minor issues after i move in. floorers advised to call when i have a certain date or have keys in hand and they should be able to install within a couple of days - hope they are accurate there as will suck if flooring inst done that week. cabler is pencilled in for the 10th and chasing neighbors re fencing now - everyone said wait till i get to PCI as shouldnt do it till after Stormwater anyway. now i get to run all over the place chasing these last minute urgent post handover items yep. booking in housepect. not because i expect to find things. would be happy if they find nothing but it means i wont worry down the track that i should have gotten one Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 638Feb 20, 2018 12:30 pm Entilzha no havent seen painters yet but my dad said there was 3 of them on site last friday when we went up their. having time to play with is important - allows you to hold that cheque a bit longer if required. Have to sign a variation and send it to them to get the credit. seems was shorter utility runs etc than estimated Plus stripping my site back to dirt with no weeds or anything pre construction helped reduce costs as well i think - will ask at my PCI so on track to have everything ready to take keys with me at inspection. bank will have 9 days to get the valaution done and cheque ready Hi, I'll be starting on my verandah repair soon - replace ledger, rafters, roofing iron, flashing etc. (fascia board already done).
