Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 661Feb 28, 2018 10:37 am flooring is now booked in for next thursday and friday and have booked in an inspector for my PCI as well. - its a local business and only $300 Both SS and Inspector are aware of my preference to take keys next monday barring any major issues power point will be moved to the revised location before PCI - not sure about external ones - assume since it will probably involve brickwork it will be rectified when my Aircon installation brickwork rectification is done (if required). plan is to have fridge, microwave, bed and blinds setup next monday afternoon then move everything else into garage over tuesday and wednesday then setup everything on weekend once flooring is done. Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 662Feb 28, 2018 1:04 pm exciting to have your flooring booked in. and planning to move in!! yay!! Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 663Feb 28, 2018 1:05 pm yep and have my fencing, Stormwater, paving, security doors and roller shutter ordered now as well still havent booked in a driveway yet though all these post handover items are depleting my finishing fund though Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 664Feb 28, 2018 1:18 pm how expensive are roller shutters? we've asked, but gotten the "we'll come, measure and quote" which doesn't help. Just want a ball park figure Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 666Feb 28, 2018 1:22 pm prices i was given last july - cant remember who quoted it and cant find teh actual quote Front window 21-18 $975 manual Windows 21-21 $1060 manual 18-15 $840 manual 18-15 $840 manual the one i got for my front window was $1159 normally $1220 and is a 240v electric motor with remote got a package price with 3 other security doors from a local business in smithfield if i had gone for a manual one it would have been about $900 Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 667Feb 28, 2018 1:29 pm awesome - had been thinking about the 1000 mark, so good to know we are on the right track. Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 668Mar 01, 2018 9:41 am Solar installation now booked in for the 14th march as well Fencing posts go in on the 5th Stormwater and paving to start on the 7th fence panels will then be put on (same guys doing fencing, stormwater and paving) Have advised SS of my trades activities next week to minimise any issues with trades doing fixups Only outstanding item to book in is my driveway and front of house to be done in charcoal concrete - estate land office said no rush (despite it being documented as a requirement before moving in) but of course cant park my car in garage till its done so there is a rush have revised my front landscaping plan think i will put 2-3 rows of retaining bricks along the front behind where water meter is, level of area in front of bricks and then dump all excess soil behind them and build it up so its all flat and level with the level of the concrete path in front of house should be able to make most use of the soil that will be removed for my rear paving and not pay to remove most of it. Have to discuss it with my paver when he starts to see how feasible it will be. then finish of the i think will be better than gravel, pebbles, bark on sloping ground and my inspector has advised he cant make it monday morning now - but wants to meet onsite at 9am saturday to the external stuff and then do the internal stuff later in the week once i have the keys. Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 672Mar 01, 2018 9:21 pm correct in saying cant wait though havent started packing yet though but over half my stuff is in storage and the bit i do have here wont take long to pack i think. that delay must really annoy them. Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 673Mar 02, 2018 4:23 am Yes since they also were on schedule for h/o start January and kept being told that then like with us mid January, then end January, then mid February, then end February then 9/3 ( but they was supposed to get flooring this week still nothing and now waiting for back solach tiling, a free stand bath , toilets /final plumbing and flooring! All before pci 9/3 😱 getting nervous fir them! Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 675Mar 04, 2018 4:40 pm thanks just some bricks that havent been cleaned properly and others that have been dirtied by painter and tiler also laundry and toilet window sills dont have enough slope - they should be consistent with the other windows but they arent - toilet window sill is nearly flat. Roofing/ gutters etc all looked good. suggested i request some silicon sealant on my garage gutter on the boundary line to prevent movement was very upfront about makign sure i keep my 75-80mm gap between pavers and termite mesh - which i already have stressed to my paver. Also recommended use of plinths esp on my garage side to prevent water ingress into neighbors yard as they are built 30cm lower than me. All pretty good and he will be back tomorrow afternoon to do the internals as of this afternoon my kitchen power point still not rectified though Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 676Mar 05, 2018 10:55 am i have keys. and a minor list of things to be fixed up still. power points should be rectified tomorrow. plus list is subject to my inspection this afternoon worse thing is i went to hang my front blind and then realised i didnt have a ladder Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 680Mar 06, 2018 4:12 pm Well living in the garage is an experience - only 2 more days to go hopefully No real pictures till after my flooring is done but i have had my internal kitchen power points fixed and a hole put in my rear wall to relocate power external points to correct height Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ slowly working through my small defect list just waiting on my final building inspection report so i can add them to my list of issues all minor really most common one was doors not painted on top and bottom - esp bottom - even external doors. will hopefully provide a little list tomorrow of the main points but exhausted is an understatement - i hope i never have to move again cant wait till i get my flooring down so that i can start cleaning my tiles properly - they are covered in concrete powder Hi, I'll be starting on my verandah repair soon - replace ledger, rafters, roofing iron, flashing etc. (fascia board already done). My question is about the timber ledger… 0 3323 1 2987 Hi All, see above image.
